This metal coffee scale is built like a tank with very high-quality materials and premium fit and finish. The unit feels substantial and heavy, which speaks to its solid construction. It is the heaviest scale I have in terms of its dimensions. I would say it is almost twice as heavy as my Acacia lunar scale. It includes a good silicone mat with helpful instructions printed on the back in both English and Chinese.The scale performs exceptionally well - it's very fast and accurate right out of the box, detecting weight almost instantaneously. Both the tare and timer functions work perfectly for coffee brewing needs. The main power switch is located on the back, but you also need to activate the unit using an unlabeled touch control on the bottom right corner, which requires some guesswork until you get used to it or look for your fingerprint. I guess part of the charm of this scale is its minimalistic design, no etchings or print on the top for any of the controls.I initially experienced inconsistent results until I discovered the rubber charge flap wasn't fully closed and was hanging down, touching the countertop surface. This highlights my one small complaint: the loose charge flap is difficult to plug back into the USB-C port and keep it properly seated. Despite this minor issue, the scale's excellent performance and premium build quality make it a solid choice for serious coffee enthusiasts. At around $40, this scale is easily a top contender for value and quality - it costs about six times less than an Acacia Lunar scale.

This coffee scale is going to replace the escali scale that I have had for about 10 years or more and it is loaded with great features! The build quality on this scale is terrific with a nice heavy metal base and glass top. I really like the different modes that it has, although switching between them can be a bit tricky to understand the first couple times you use them. It either functions as a standard scale, a pour-over scale and timer, and an espresso scale that measures weight/volume and shot time and automatically resets the timer once the weight is removed from the scale. Readings seem very accurate and go to the tenth of a gram, unlike my old scale that only did whole grams. This would be a perfect gift for any coffee lover and connoisseur of different brewing methods.

I admit it, our family is a bunch of coffee snobs. We purchase green coffee beans in bulk from various countries through a distributor in Florida, blend them just the way we like them, and then roast them in a countertop roaster. When I saw this scale, I had to have it, and it did not disappoint! It does stuff that you would never expect from a mere kitchen scale. The capacity is a little low for a typical kitchen scale, but still adequate for most uses. Most scales that I have used have a maximum capacity of around 10 or 11 pounds. This one maxes out at 2 kg or 4.4 pounds. Certainly plenty adequate for coffee measuring and, really, for most kitchen tasks. Just something to think about. It comes nicely packaged and has a beautiful, sleek, ultramodern design. When it is turned off, it just looks like a small black tempered glass slab that could blend in anywhere. This is one that you will be tempted to leave out on your counter all the time. When you turn it on, the LED display magically appears and is bright and easy to read. It has a ton of functions. Like most scales, it can measure plain weight or tare weight. It can be set to automatically turn off when not being used. The units are programmable in grams, ounces, or milliliters. It is rechargeable, so there are no batteries to buy. It even comes with a protective silicone mat, which is preprinted with all of the instructions on how to use the scale, in order to protect it from hot objects such as a coffee pot. It has a built-in timer if you want to precisely time your brew duration; however, it will function equally well as a backup kitchen timer for general cooking purposes. For those coffee techno nerds, it even has features that I have never seen before. One is called "espresso mode". This allows you to put the scale under your espresso machine and put the cup on the scale. It will automatically measure the weight of the cup before and after the brew and the extraction time. These results are locked in until you take the cup off. This allows you to adjust your espresso machine for the perfect cup of coffee. It has a similar mode called "hand drip mode," which is used for single-cup pour-over systems. All in all, this is a great little scale in the only limitation that I see is the 2 kg maximum capacity. You can decide if that's an issue for you, but I love it!
