This scale is very accurate.I put a calibratedf 1g weigt on it & this registered fine.I then added a calibrated 50g weight & the reading was 51g.Thus the scale resolutoin is very good. Also the push buttons are very sturdy giving a nice solid "click"when you press them

Works OK but has a couple of things which bug me. The 'Tare' function doesn't work as you would expect, so there's extra button pressing and standing around waiting for it to change mode, which it does frustratingly slowly. Sometimes the button doesn't work so you have to press it multiple times which is really annoying. The backlight is good but would be better if it was on permanently, because I just have to switch it on every time. The product is OK, not amazing. I wouldn't recommend it.

I've had this for a while now (a couple years or so?) and it still works. It's very light weight, easy to use and to see the weight readings. I tend to be wordy in my letters (which can be several pages thick), so I wanted something that will tell me the weight at a glance so that I can put the correct postage on instead of having to make a trip to the post office during rush hour, and stand in a long line just to find out if my mail requires more than a first class postage stamp. Now, I have a new Etsy project that comes in small bottles, and I will need to weigh the packages in order to set the price. This scale was a good buy.. I have no complaints whatsoever.

I got this scale because of the vertical display. I had a flat scale, and sometimes the item I was weighing would block the display. This scale’s display is a big improvement, but it’s still not perfect — I have to push the “backlight” button to read the display, and I can’t set the backlight to be on as default.Other issues:• The buttons aren’t very touch-responsive, I really have to push. Not always great with wet hands or on a flour-covered counter.• I don’t understand why the Tare button is separate from the power button. My old scale would tare if you tapped the power button, and power down if you held the power button down for a bit. I’ll admit, this feature would probably bother me less if the buttons were more responsive, though.• It doesn’t seem to be as precise as my old scale. When I’m weighing grams, it often jumps by twos. And I can’t find the calibration precision in the manual. It’s light, takes up minimal space in my kitchen, and is legible no matter what I’m weighing. But for the price (four times as much as my last scale!), I wish it were sturdier, more responsive, and easier to use.

I really liked this scale after I bought it a few years ago but gave mine away and bought another. The new one didn't work, because it had a broken wire for the battery connector. Amazon replaced the defective unit... and the battery door snapped on the replacement! The old, working scale seemed accurate yet handles more then 10 lbs. and you can read the display even while a large bowl is on top (which is a problem with some other scales). The backlight is very nice, and the controls are easy to use (with an essential Tare button).Unfortunately, lousy quality control for this Made in China product is now ruining the good impression I had from the one I bought several years ago.

I couldn't be happier with this scale. It more expensive than the others I saw on Amazon., but, you get what you pay for! I need an ACCURATE scale. This scale has a removeble top for easy cleaning. There's also an option to buy power cord so you don't have to rely on batteries (although the scale will let you know if you batteries are weak). With most scales you don't have a power option. Some ingredients are hard to measure by cupfuls, such as chunky ingredients that take up space but leave gaps. Messy ingredient (such as peanut butter, shortening, etc) are a snap to measure! Nowadays, most receipes have weight equivalents displayed right next to them. Plus there are lots of websites that have weight/cup charts.

I just got this scale and I like it.I had a cheaper digital scale, and it was annoying in some ways that the Escali Alimento has fixed. The cheaper scale didn't have an AC adapter. You had to use batteries, and it's annoying when they run low in the middle of weighing, having to recharge them, etc. It shut off after 3 minutes of non-use, and that causes problems. Sometimes I would spend too long chopping veg's or have to do something else, and it would turn off and lose the weight. I had to touch the scale now and then to keep it from shutting off. Having to cater to the vagaries of an appliance isn't fun. I bought the Escali Alimento with the AC adapter, and it turns off only when YOU are finished using it and you turn it off. If you're using batteries it has an automatic shutoff. The Escali Alimento gives you a choice of ounces, pounds and ounces, digital pounds and grams. Which is nice, because you don't have to use a calculator to convert pounds and ounces to digital pounds, etc. My cheaper scale had fewer options for the weight units. The weighing plate on the Escali Alimento is detachable. So you can take it off to clean it. With my cheaper scale, the weighing area didn't come off, I risked getting water into the interior of the scale. This is maybe why it starting acting weird after a while. So a scale with a detachable plate will tend to live longer. The Escali Alimento has covered buttons. So food or liquids aren't going to get in around the spaces around the buttons, and maybe damage the scale. My cheaper scale didn't have covered buttons. So this is why you may want to get a higher-end scale, and buy online, because local stores have cheaper scales. The only negative I can see about the Escali Alimento is that the body of the scale is covered by a grey plastic shell, which is obviously trying to look like metal and obviously isn't. So it doesn't look as nice as it could.
