This has to be the lightest tripod I've ever held. Would be great if you had to hike somewhere with a light stand for whatever reason. Since it is so light, anything you put up top is going to significantly raise the center of gravity, making it easy to fall over, so be sure to weigh down the base with a backpack or sandbag.

I’ve grown old, far less agile and disabled. The days of carrying and setting up heavy equipment are over for me.Nowadays I’m trying to lighten everything. Cameras. Lights. Lenses. Accessories. Everything. This stand is part of that transition. It’s made of Carbon Fiber and light – not quite two pounds, which is really light for a six foot stand. The legs have a span of about two feet when spread flat which is great for stability. The main pole extends to about six feet, but you have to be careful here. The illustration shows a maximum extension of 76.4 inches with the tripod legs at a minimum angle. I wouldn’t suggest deploying the stand in that way. A more realistic maximum height I think is around six feet. The minimum length with the legs folded is 18.5 inches. A nice padded case is provided. The vendor doesn’t specify a maximum payload, but it looks like and feels like it can handle a substantial load. It has a combination stud for lights (which I think is a half inch) and a ¼-20 tripod screw. You can use this as a light stand or a tripod. The central column can be removed and used as a selfie-stick or mono pod. There’s a ¼-20 tripod socket on the bottom of the central column. This is so light that it’s a delight to use. By the same token, the sturdy material and the broad based legs serve to make the stand very resistant to tipping over. In my opinion, it’s a great addition to any photographer’s or videographer’s kit.Jerry

I shoot a lot of photos and videos outside, so wanted a lightweight light stand to carry around when I am doing my shoots to hold my video lights or my flashes. This carbon fiber light stand has got to be one of the best and lightest stands ever, because it barely weights anything, and extends really high as well. Due to it being lightweight, I wouldn't want to put anything too front heavy like a large softbox or reflector on it without weighing it down, but then if I were carrying sandbags they takes away from the portability of this stand. For a smaller light or smaller flash, this stand is great. Everything was easily tightened or loosened, and It is easy to expand and collapse this stand in just a few seconds. It's also nice they included a carry bag as well, making this portable stand even easier to carry. I'm going to be carrying this around to all my videos shoots from now on because it is so useful.

I was very happily surprised when I tried setting up this light stand. It is very easy to set up without any instructions. It is very lightweight, which worried me at first, but then I found it is also very sturdy. It is difficult to imagine how it is so much of both. It is well made, and comes with a convenient carry case. It is a little difficult to fit back inside the case, but that is just because it fits exactly and looks great and compact set up.Because it is so light, there are limits to what you could use with is, just for the tipping factor. Anything with a central point of gravity should be just fine.

This is a great light stand for anyone in the photo/video realm, especially if you travel a lot or do live events or gigs.Overall it has a very solid feel to it. It should always be used with a sand bag in my opinion. But the build quality is great. It feels a bout as solid as other light stands i have but easily weighs 2 -3 times less.I love the metal hardware. I tend to shy away from anything that uses plastic clamps or connecting pieces and a lot of cheap stands break due to these plastic parts failing. This stand has nice aluminum joints and all that so it feels like it will hold up really well in the long run.It folds down super small and the carrying case is very nice compared to other free bags that get included with cheap gear.I take this light to every wedding i do now and use it in the home studio all the time. It has instantly become my go-to light stand.

I shoot video when I'm out hiking and biking. I don't want to carry heavy tripods with me, I usually resort to clamps on tree branches and stuff clipped to parts of my bike as it leans against a tree. I've picked up a few smaller lighter tripods to lift up my shots, literally. This is meant to be a light stand, but it can also be sued as a tripod for action cameras and lighter weight cams- which is what I'm primarily shooting on.This is plenty stable enough to hold my Action 3 in place and higher. I added a small ball head and it's great. It is also pretty light weight so I'm not adding 100lbs to my pack. The included storage bag means I can strap it to the outside of my bike rack, or take it out and toss it into a pannier or other bag with ease.I really like this and hope to put a few hundred hours of footage on it over the upcoming years.
