Great heavy-duty boom arm. I'd trust my lights up in the air on one of these. However, it does NOT work with just any c-stand. I bought it with the Avenger A5034 and together they work well.

BEST BEST BOOM THERE IS. Sure it's heavy but rest assured your modifier is secure. I will keep this forever. I wouldn't mount my Mola's on anything else.

I bought this boom arm for a photo shoot. It has great extension length. In the description it states it is compatible with any c-stand (century stand). Wrong. I think they intended to say any "cine stand." So I had to buy a new stand. It's build rock solid but needs more counter weight in order to hold an alienbee with 86" umbrella at full extension. In the photo the arm is not at full extension

Very strong, sturdy and heavy. The counterweight (which others have pointed out requires a wrench to loosen and move) has an odd clamping mechanism that seems ill-suited for clamping onto a round surface. When tightened, it does not seem to move or to deflect the hollow boom arm, but it doesn't inspire confidence that it won't slip. Note that this does NOT work on an Avenger C Stand. You need a base such as the Avenger A5034 folding roller stand with a 1 1/8" female fitting for the mounting stud.

This is about all any photographer could ask for in a heavy duty studio boom. Well made to great tolerances, will Not bend or flex. The grip head is sufficient size to hold the heaviest of photo studio lights and modifiers with budging. Plenty of length to get the light where you want it without the stand being in the photo or way of working. You will however need the matching junior stand (I would highly recommend the wheeled version as the weight is to much to move around without them).
