Have been looking for a light stand of this size for while! A low rise isn't super common. So I was excited to buy this for setting up my camera and teleprompter, but discovered that the wheels are super stiff. You have to pick up the whole thing to move it, unless you want your mounted gear to tip over. Should've just kept looking -- or used a stationary stand. Lame. (Gave it 3 stars because it does work as a stationary stand.)

This Soonpho Foldable Floor Light Stand is a very solid stand. The build on it is sturdy. The casters are also very durable, they roll easily and can be locked. The Light stand works well, it is on the shorter size, height range is 24-31.9in. It does fold up for easy storage but it is not necessarily lightweight; it has some heft to it. This is a nice stand to have on hand- it is pretty versatile and the build on it is solid.

This is a review of the Soonpho 24-31.9" Removable Foldable Floor Light Stand, with an ASIN of B0BWRD3BXD.Short version (TL;DR) - Negatives: No segment-drop cushioning. No instructions. Positives: Super sturdy. Versatile. Caster locks secure both rotation *and* swivel. Delicious folding mechanism. Has some kind of accessory mount on one leg pivot.Long version …I very much get the feeling that either this is coming to Amazon through fewer links in the supply chain than most things, or that some parties aren’t taking much margin on it, as the value here seems rather nuts. I talked to someone (who knows casters inside and out) about the style of casters used, and they mentioned how much those would generally go for as an individual part - with three times that amounting to a surprisingly fraction of the price of this unit. Obviously, that’s not considering anything else about this, such as how ruggedly built it is, etc… Anyway, I’m thoroughly impressed with it. That said, it does have two (minor, to me) negatives, so let’s get into that.Negatives:* No Segment-drop Cushioning - a lot of flash/strobe users seem to swear by having some kind of damping (be it springs or air) against segment drops in their light stands. This doesn’t have that. To me, it’s not a big deal, as I’m in the habit of releasing things gently and guiding them down in the first place, but I’m weird. So, perhaps for you, dear reader, this will matter more.* No Instructions - it’s not at all hard to figure out how to assemble it, but I do rather wish it had come with some kind of do-this-not-that kind of documentation. It makes me feel better if I know the manufacturer’s expected usage boundaries, etc… Again, this is a very minor issue, but it felt a little odd that there was nothing at all in that regard.Positives:* Super Sturdy - when I was growing up, the expression “Brick [Out]house” was still in use. This is that. It is absolutely overbuilt. I feel like if you smacked a charging bull across the noggin with the foot end of this in an adrenaline-fueled panic, the bull would break, rather than this … or at least sit down dazed, stare at the stand for a while, and then go off and buy their own. (Note - do not take this as a recommendation to actually try to swat a bull with this thing. Besides, if a bull is really charging you, you probably did something to put yourself in harm’s way in the first place.)* Versatile - the upper section of the stand attaches to the base via a standard lamp dowel interface, meaning both the upper and lower could be combined with other things in creative manners. Beyond that, the top of the upper allows you to position the lamp dowel vertically or horizontally. Also, that dowel at the top? It’s double-ended with 3/8" and 1/4" tips. Finally, the dowel socket in the base appears to be removable, meaning, if you really wanted to, you could clamp something else into the base, assuming you have an appropriately-sized Allen wrench.* Fantastic Caster Locks - perhaps I’m focused on the casters too much, but these are so nice. The caster locks secure the casters not just against rotation of the wheels, but also prevent swiveling. This means that when the locks are on, this might as well be on solid rubber feet. This feature gives the stand a super solid footing.* Folding Mechanism - it’s beautiful. It uses a sprung bar, catching in notches cut into sumptuously thick plates on either side of the legs. It’s just so satisfyingly solid and robust. Yowzers - I may need to seek professional help for how much I enjoy parts of this stand. Did I mention the ends of the latch bars are knurled? Well, they are. Heck, there’s even a lockout for the latch bars, should you want to have the legs swinging back and forth for some reason. It’s just so delicious.* Mystery Mount - you may know what this is, but I don’t. One of the leg swivel bolts extends out farther than the others and has two holes through it at a 90 degree angle to each other. (See pictures.) I would have mentioned this in the “Versatile” section, except I don’t know what it’s for. Frankly, that this thing has mysterious bonus capabilities impresses me. I love having features I can grow into with expanded knowledge and/or creativity. To summarize, if you need a low light stand, buy this, unless you really, really need segment-drop cushioning.

Very high-quality construction with excellent casters and foldable legs. It’s very stable. Sure half of that is because it’s really low to the ground but the thing is extremely well-made. It rolls around incredibly smoothly and allows you to lock the wheels to keep your light in place. A great thing to have when you’re experimenting with the low level lighting. You can even use it to hold a camera and do some dolly shots and moves. It’s very versatile sturdy item. I totally love this little guy.It doesn’t really have a tripod mount per se but if you are already into photography you’re going to have all the accessories you need to mount your camera on this thing. It does have the standard light stand mount so you can start with that.End it does a really wonderful job of holding away very compact.

I was looking for a rolling stand for my tablet that I use as a directors monitor for clients. Because clients like to move around I knew I wanted a stand on wheels that was sturdy. This fit my needs exactly. The huge casters are smooth and quiet with a very strong lock to keep the wheels from moving. This is made with metal so it’s got some weight on it but it’s not what I would call heavy. Strong enough to have a monitor on it while wheeling all over set. I love the various screw pins on top to use with any device you choose to use. It’s about a yard tall, which I find ideal because most clients are sitting down anyways. It’s easy to unfold and fold away due to the strong spring action center piece. It’s the perfect fit for a monitor station.

Not quite sure what the original use for this was but I got for a speaker stand, but kind of too small of tube. Was simple to put the casters on, the legs fold up for storage too. I like this idea but wish there was something like this more suited for speakers.

Surprisingly heavy, this compact wheeled stand took about two minutes to assemble, and most of that was threading in the wheels. Realistically, if you're moving this from job to job, you're not going to remove the wheels. The center column can be removed quickly, but with the legs folded up and the column in place it's still really compact. The legs lock in the up and down positions. The base has about a 16" span. The height is 24" when the column is all the way down. If you push against the top of the column, the leverage is such that it will start to push over. The wheels don't move. You have to push pretty close to the base to actually move it. It's not the most stable thing and you'll really need sandbags. The top of the column has a post that is 3/8-20 on one side and 1/4-20 on the other. The post in aluminum, base and post steel. That top post can also be mounted straight up or sideways - really convenient. This makes it possible to mount an accessory at any position.
