I needed to paint some unfinished wood plugs that are covering recessed screws in a shelving unit and though I have several paintbrushes, I didn't really have anything available for this sort of detail work. This set of brushes are just the right size for small projects, or even to replace brushes that come with paint-by-number kits, for example. The brushes are well made, with smooth handles and firm attachment of the bristles to the handle. I tugged on some of the bristles and could not dislodge any, so no strays to mar a painted project. The thing I like best about these brushes is the triangular grip. It provides a comfortable place for the thumb, pointer finger, and middle finger to rest, keeping the bristles oriented in the desired direction. When finished, it was easy to clean latex paint from the brush, leaving it ready for the next painting project.

I'm happy with this brush set. I'm not a skilled painter, but I do a lot of crafts that require painting. I knew I had a project coming up that needed some fine detail work, and that is not my strongest skill. I ordered these brushes to make it a little easier. I've used them for a few hours with cheap acrylic craft paint and have been happy with the results.First of all, the handles are great. I love the shaped grip as it is comfortable to hold, and prevents the brushes rolling off the table. I do want to hold them a little higher than the grips sometimes, but the grip doesn't prevent me from doing that either. Each handle is labeled with the size and type as well as the brand name. They are lightweight and easy to maneuver and spin. The ferrule seems to be pretty solid for brushes at this price point. I've had similar brushes that felt very loose from the beginning and these feel stronger and that they'll last a while. The bristles haven't shed at all, which is great. The tips are holding together well and pick up paint as they should. They paint smoothly and I've not lost any bristles into my work. Each brush has a plastic cover cap to protect it when not in use.For the price point, these are excellent brushes. If you're starting out and need a set of small brushes, you can't go wrong with this. Treat them properly and clean them well, and these should last you a while.

Excellent starting point if you're looking to get into miniature painting. In my experience so far (several years), you won't beat these for the price. The wood handles feel great in hand and include an ergonomic place to hold the brush. The round brushes arrived in perfect shape, but the angular and filbert brushes required just a touch of TLC to get them up to par. Even with that little bit of required preconditioning these are fantastic. Often, cheap brushes will have bristles falling out on initial wash/use, but these are holding their bristles very well. Paint application is nice and smooth. I've tested them out on both smooth and rough textures on minis and they handle each with ease.Excellent choice for the new painter, solid even for experienced ones.

I really needed some detail brushes for my acrylic artwork and crafts. This has a nice selection of sizes in the shapes of brushes that I use most. They don't seem to be shedding any of the synthetic bristles. I'm glad these brushes came with the plastic tubes over the round brushes, because I use them to protect the bristle shapes, even in my brush case. I prefer wood handles, and the shape of the handles will take a little getting use to for me, but especially at this budget price, these are some nice brushes!

My primary use for these are for painting my woodcarving projects. I use a variety of brushes to paint detail into my projects using acrylic paints and washes. The brushes need to be tight and not shed bristle hairs onto my projects using acrylic. The hair on the brush stays in place and the handles are ergonomic which makes it comfortable in the hand. These brushes are very good for hobbyist who paint in various medias aand want a quality brush that maintain their shape.

I got these to use in adult coloring books. They are a great size and style for accurately getting into teeny tiny spaces with water soluble media (and they worked perfectly for it). The ergonomic grip near the tip of the brush feels very nice in the hand as does the wooden brush body. (At least, it looks and feels like wood. I haven't read the description to see what it says.)I gave one of the larger brushes a good scrub with a paint cleaner/conditioner after using and it did not see any loss of brush hairs. (Nor did I see any while using the brush to paint with.)The only downside is that two of my brushes arrived mis-shaped. I rinsed them with water, re-shaped them and then put a piece of low-tack tape around them to help them hold the new shape while they dry. I'm sure they will be just fine. At less than $4 for 8 good quality brushes, I'm not the least bit concerned, and in my case, it may have just been a one-off situation anyway.

These brushes have full size wooden handles and feel good and controlled, even in my larger hands. They come in a range of sizes that is especially useful for painting models or small miniatures, which is my intention for them. The bristles come pre-gooped with some kind of gel to keep their shape during transit. The bristles are advertised as synthetic nylon, which makes sense at this price point.Speaking of price point, it's hard to overestate what a great value this set is. 8 very usable brushes with ergonomic handles in a great range of shapes for this type of painting for $4 shipped is well below "clearance bin at the art store" prices. At this price I don't expect them to last for 10 years or anything, but I do expect to get a very reasonable amount of use out of these with decent care, and certainly more than enough to make them an excellent value proposition.Would definitely recommend them, especially to those who are looking for a cheap entry point into model or miniatures painting.
