I got this to spread sensitizer on water color papers for making large alternative photography prints. It's great much better than the Japanese style brushes I have made of hair. This has far less bristles and doesn't suck up the sensitizer into the brush like my Japanese style brushes does. Some people complain that the ferrel on these will rust or contaminate the print. I haven't had that be and issue and I make a lot of prints. I am careful to not soak all the way up to the ferrel and I clean it after ever use. This is my second one from Richeson. I have a 1.5 inch and this 4 inch. The Japanese equivalent to these in synthetic can cost over $200 these are much more in my budget. Wish I had got more of these than some of the Japanese ones I purchased. These are really great for Alternative photography and this is a great price I have seen this brush for $100 in other stores.
