As said, probably fine, but way too big for my 14-42mm and 14-150 Olympia lenses. However, it could be that there are different sizes of those lenses, and might therefore have been my fault for not looking closer at description.

It doesn't meet my requirements since it doesn't seem to fit. I wonder which lens it does fit?

Being an Olympus product it isn't cheap for what it is but it fits well and is secure unlike a third party lens hood I had before. Not sure why "Stabilization" is down as an option to review though!!!

Vey satisfied with this product. It does the job and fits well on my 14-150 mm lens including, in reverse for storage.

I'm a big fan of lens hoods; they not only reduce the circumstances you end up with veiling glare or even actual flare in your photos (and you can *take them off* if you're actively seeking the look of lens flare, after all), they ALSO serve as shock-absorbing bumpers out in front of your lens, so the first thing that hits isn't the mounting ring or the glass element.

Should have listened to previous reviewers: this LH-61C lens hood does NOT fit 14-42 lens. Much too large in circumference. I have the II R version. And idea what fits this lens? I have never had an Olympus camera before but noticed none of my lenses came with a hood. I have four. Been able to get hoods for two of the lenses, and thought this was OK for the third. Wrong. It seems to fit my 40-150 but I already have a barrel hood for it; maybe I'll have two to use.

I leave this hood on my lens 99% of the time. It locks in place and yet is easy to remove if needed. It does a good job of shielding the lens and also provides some protection from bumping the lens face on things. I will buy it again if I ever loose it.

This is an excellent hood. I use it for Olympus 14-150mm zoom lens and it is a perfect fit. It locks in well, locks onto lens in backward position for storage and there are no problems with wide angle at 14mm. I highly recommend this item. One more comment. Some people complained that this hood does not fit kit 14-42mm zoom. There is a communication problem. This hood is designed for 58mm diameter lens for 4/3 system, not for newer 14-42mm kit zooms for micro 4/3 system with diameter of 40.5 or 37mm, if my memory serves me correctly. We just need to read product description.

I purchased this item with the expectation of threading it onto my 14-42mm M.Zuiko lens. But, it simply slips right over the entire lens, with no hopes of threading it onto the lens, for a proper hood shading, that it was designed for. Although, it was advertised to fit onto the lens as referred to, but it does not, by design specs of the actual lens body. I suspect it was designed for a 65mm thread sized lens, or it is in correctly advertised for the specified model. I have other, Tulip styled hoods that thread on perfectly, to the various lenses in my arsenal. This is the only one that I am stuck with thanks to the misleading information used to advertise this products use! Overall, it is a nice and well designed item, with great finish and style, but for the right lens diameter. Again, it does not apply to the M. Zuiko 14-42mm lens as advertised. Someday, hopefully? Corrections will be made in order to prevent miscues from the unsuspecting buyers. Because of this particular transaction, I minimize my purchase needs through the great operations of "Amazon."

This is just what the doctor ordered. The 14-150mm lens can be very prone to flare as there is no shielding the front element, especially with a filter. No matter how good the coating you still need a hood. This hood is designed for this lens (NOT the 14-42, shame on you Oly for suggesting this), and fits nicely out of the way when reversed. Yes it is a little on the expensive side compared with non Oly makes of hood, but I have yet to find an independent maker who produces this size in a bayonet fitting. Screw mount hoods are all very well but they are fussy and inconvenient, and certainly don't reverse back on the lens barrel. So it is worth the extra for quality, fitness for purpose and convenience.

I lost my kit lens hood for my Olympus E-510, and I started getting all kinds of problems with lens flare. Using my hand as a lens hood got to be old fast. I needed a replacement and one that fits Olympus lenses. Most generic lens hoods attach to a filter on the lens. That doesn't work too good if the hood is not perfectly round, and you are using a Polaroid filter that you need to rotate. The Olympus lens hood has cutouts in the corner so it doesn't cause vignetting on wide angle lenses. It attaches to the lens, not the filter, so it doesn't rotate with the filter. It's a bit expensive for a piece of plastic, but it's worth it. One thing to keep in mind that I sometimes forget: don't use the lens hood when you're using the built-in flash on a wide angle shot. The hood blocks part of the flash.
