Bought this HP Scanjet Pro in December 2023. Yesterday, 14Feb2024 it died. Worked with HP Tech Support on phone but they could not fix. Gave me 2 or 3 local independent Authorized HP repair centers but they advised they would not repair it even after we stated that we would pay for the repair services. Thus 3 months out of the 1 year Warranty period HP stated that they do not support this product after the 1 Year Warranty expires and said we would have to purchase a new one. Apparently this HP product has a pre-made built-in programmed software life span that HP does not advertise so that they can force small businesses like ours to keep having to purchase a new one after the 1 year limited warranty expires. Consider now that you have been forewarned about HP business practices and policies.. Millennium Prods Inc., USA.

I have always relied on HP Printers and Scanners and I'm never disappointed. The Scanner is a great size, not too heavy, but works very professionally. Quiet and quick. I'm happy again with HP.

I just bought this scanner but HP says it is out of warranty already because it's old and they won't offer support. I've never heard of this before and won't be buying HP products in the future. And there is not a way to talk to anyone at Amazon. This is bad!

Scanner shipped promptly, arrived in good condition. It looks nice, and seems like a quality build, but...After 2 hours of trying to get software and drivers from HP, I've given up and will be returning the product. I went to support, ID'd my scanner, and then the site went into compiling mode, for Windows 10, even though I tried to unsuccessfully to switch it to 11. There it stayed, grinding away for over 2 hours without ever seeming to be able to compile any software or drivers. Tried reloading several times, but nothing. Support on weekends is really nonexistent, they refer you to Best Buy as a support center. Since I can't use the scanner without software and drivers, even though I'd like it to work, back it goes.Ah, for the old days when you got the software and drivers with the product on a hard medium. So on update, I've given the scanner an additional 3 stars, as when I got through to tech support they were very helpful. I never did get the software or drivers off of the website; the tech support rep had to email me the files. And now the scanner works. Compared to my old HP Scanjet 8460, there's good and bad. Good: much smaller footprint, and more reliable document feeder, easier to use flatbed feature, and it scans quickly and well. Not so good: the software is clunkier and does not appear to be as full-featured as before. It's also slower to accept changes. So I'm keeping the scanner, as it does its job, and I'm confident in HP's support. Just that there's some unnecessary brain damage involved in the switch, which was necessitated by the "upgrade" to Windows 11. But that's another story.
