The Fujitsu fi-5120C scanner offers outstanding price/performance value in a compact footprint making it well suited for the front-office environment. It scans in color, grayscale and monochrome at duplex speeds up to 50 ipm and features 600 dpi optical resolution for incredible image quality. The Fujitsu fi-5120C scanner is the only workgroup class unit that offers ultrasonic double feed detection and long document scanning support (up to 34 inches).

This scanner now features hard card scanning capability (ISO7810 standard) and embossed card scanning through the main automatic document feeder. Yet, at just 6.3 in. x 11.9 in. x 6.7 in., it easily installs into even the most crowded environments.

Update to the previous review. The scanner was delivered quickly and came with power supply, sheet feeder and catcher, and a USB cable, but after scanning 5 pages, it started to tear the leading edge of the paper. Tried scanning another page, which was torn even worse, then finally it stopped pulling the paper through and made a horrible buzzing. The bottom pinch rollers are melted and deformed, which I guess is a common problem with this scanner after a lot of use. Unfortunately, there is no way to repair the scanner: no parts available and I guess it is difficult to get access to the pinch rollers to replace them. It could have been a great buy, but it is a waste of money.I have one of these scanners already and it works great, even with Windows 10, using the Fujitsu Windows 8.1 drivers. The scanner is fast, does double sided scanning (if your software supports it), and color, greyscale and black and white. The document feeder hold 10 to 20 pages, so it does quick work on large jobs. I use it scan receipts into Quicken without having to change the paper guides, just leaving them at 8.5 inches. The pinch roller is very good at pulling documents straight through. The price of my original scanner (north of $600) made the purchase from Thermal Printer Outlet (through Amazon) a bargain at $75. All the parts were there, including the ADF and catch-tray, the power supply and even a USB cable. And while I know this is a refurbished unit, my only disappointment was that the power button on the front doesn't work (it is always on and can't be turned off without unplugging the scanner) and the plastic is "sunburned", probably from sitting in storage for a long time.Delivery was as promised, coming within 2 days. It was packed very well to ensure no damage (I sometimes hate to see all that good paper go to waste, but at least it is recyclable.) Thumbs up, all the way around.

This scanner is of no use as it DOES NOT include the input paper tray. The main page with product description is misleading as it does not mention this. It's perhaps only when one has made up his mind to buy and goes to the various buying options that it's mentioned it does not include the trays. At that stage I did not go through the product description again and now I'm left with a scanner which is no good.

This worked for about a year and a half for me. There is no support for Windows 10 from Fujitsu for this model. I used a copy of Paperport and it worked very well until it stopped being recognized. The scanner arrived clean, but with very obvious signs of wear. The rollers were obviously very used, but still functional.

This scanner is excellent - it is compact in size which is very helpful - it is very fast. It actually is much faster than needed for a home office and a buyer could save some expense by buying a similiar but slower model. I have had repeated problems with the driver. Have had to uninstall and reinstall the driver three times in one month. Tech Support as been very helpful and willing to work thru the problem but no definite solution. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this scanner for an office application.

I had purchased 3 HP scanners at different times, the lastest was a 5500, all of which were insufferably incompentent and a complete waste of time and money. Never again will I buy an HP product unless it's a laser jet printer, which is a fabluous product.I've tried and returned 3 Brother all-in-ones, none of which worked well as scanners, except the doc feeder did work well sometimes as paper shredder. I couldn't figure out how to remove the jammed original from the doc feeder except by pulling it through, which, on perforated originals, would destroy the document. Phooey on Brother. Another complete waste of time. With that background, now comes Fujitsu. I paid full legal retail, no fooling around with E-Bay on this one, and got the product the next business day for $20 more shipping. The scanner is a work of art, a complee delight and a reliable workhorse. It always works, it's small, quiet and FAST. The standard software is a dream. The doc feeder opens like a clam shell, so NO pulling the paper through if it jams. You just press the releast button and the thing opens up and the original drops out of the bottom. It scans both sides of the doc at the same pass, at about the same speed as single sided scanning, so no jerking around with running the original back and forth through the doc feeder, where it introduces more opportunity for a screw ups, tearing and jamming. In case you have experienced it, it's horrifying to watch your original being slowly crumpled and torn while the doc feeder groans, then stops after it has destroyed your document. It's a sickening feeling.Later, I bought a Canon duplex copier, Image Class model 6530, which sounded like a thrashing machine. It was both slow and stupid, on top of being too loud. It's duplex copying ran the copy through back and forth four times before it produced a single page of copy. It's doc feeder for duplexing was back and forth with the original, and it, too, jammed and the doc feeder wouldn't open up so you could gently remove the original. It also acted as a shredder. It went back. The only thing about this Fujitsu model is that it doesn't have a flat bed for scanning photos and books, etc. That version wouldn't fit my pocket book or my desk top. My brother has a 5110C and says he just uses his copier for these jobs requiring a flatbed and then scans in the copy. I'll be buying a very nice Canon flatbed for about $80 which should work well for color flatbed and book scanning, which I need from time to time. The combination should be a killer. In summary, the 5120C is a fabulous product which is carefully designed to do it's job flawlessly, taking everything into consideration, including noise, desk space, speed, reliability, ease of use, and care-free usability. With all those benefits, don't complain about the price. If you value your time, you respect yourself, you'll pay the price and get the one that works properly, so you can get on to the work at hand, rather than fighting your tools.Hope this helps...
