I love the versatility of these wire cutting pliers. They are sturdy and well made and they work great for stripping wires. I am kind of a novice when it comes to splitting or stripping cables and so I’m not very good at using this tool. It is nice to have that option though. The wire twisting feature is interesting, but I have never felt the need for a mechanical wire twister (at least with thin gauge wires) so I don’t know that I will use that feature much. Also probably out of ignorance or a healthy fear of getting shocked I am not comfortable using these pliers to test for voltage. I was actually excited about the voltage tester, but just can’t get past the fear factor yet. lol. I have other non-contact devices that I can use to test for voltage and that don’t require me to use my hand to complete the circuit. The cutters on these pliers work great. The price of these wire cutters is very comparable to similar, perhaps less versatile, cutters at the big box store.

Very comfortable to hold, with grips that have just the right feel. Having wire cutters, strippers and needle nose pliers all in one tool is very convenient. They are cleanly finished, with a look and feel similar to much more expensive "brand name" tools. Operation is very smooth with no excess play. It will be a while before I can tell how well these hold up compared to brand name tools but I'm sure that these will outlast most do-it-yourselfers.The voltage sensor is a nice touch, although a multimeter should always be used to confirm power status.Overall a fine tool for those who want good quality without spending a fortune.

This is a typical low cost tool. It should work for most homeowners, but something like a Klein it's not a well made. I wouldn't trust the voltage detection as anything except a last resort. I had assumed that it was going to be a typical contactless AC tester, but this requires the tool to be physically touched to the wire and and coupled through the user. I tested it on DC up 32V and was able to get the green light and alarm to trigger. I also tested it on an AC neutral/ground at 120V and it would flash the light, but not trigger the alarm. It was the same thing 14VAC both hot and neutral. I was unwilling to test the hot wire at 120V so I was never able to get the red light to activate.

I’ve used plenty of wire strippers over the years, but this one stands out for actually doing everything it promises without feeling like a gimmick. The cutting and stripping functions are sharp and precise, making quick work of 10-18 AWG wire without any annoying fraying or half-stripped insulation left behind. The built-in voltage detector is a great touch, adding an extra layer of safety without having to reach for another tool. It’s solid in the hand, well-balanced, and doesn’t feel like it’ll wear out anytime soon.The crimper and twister features are where this tool really earns its spot in my kit. Twisting wires together is effortless, saving time and keeping connections neat, while the crimper holds its own against standalone tools. The added pliers function is just a bonus at this point. If you do any regular electrical work, this is a no-brainer.

I like the heft of this tool. I have several cheaper versions of wire strippers and some old Klein tools I picked up while traveling the Southwest installing telephone equipment years ago. This tool wouldn't have gotten much use back then but I can tell you it is well made and great for doing other electrical work.It is a step up from other wire strippers and crimpers. It does strip wires, wind wires together and strip cords and cables outer jackets. Three small tools are included for when you need to change batteries in the lamp. There is a small catch to hold the hangles together when not in use.
