It works really well with a good drill attached. Strips about anything you can fit into the holes cleanly. Simple to use, clamps down to a workbench easily. If you're wanting to strip a lot of wire, have several drill batteries ready or use a corded drill. I actually switched over to my Bauer (HF) mud mixing drill and that worked well with it's torque. Overall, if you don't want to spend a mortgage payment on an automatic powered stripper, this fits the bill nicely.

It's very heavy and works well. I got it for my son who is an electrician's apprentice. He is able to strip the wire far more quickly than by hand. It sits sturdy on the work table. He likes it a lot and says he will use it often.

The Wire Stripper Machine (0.08" to 0.79") is a top-notch tool for electricians and DIYers. This heavy-duty stripper handles copper wire flawlessly, delivering clean, precise results. Its adjustable settings allow easy customization for different wire sizes, ensuring versatility and accuracy. The hand crank works fine but gets tedious for large jobs—switching to drill-powered mode is a game-changer, making it incredibly fast and efficient. It saves a ton of time, especially on bigger projects, letting you burn through wire effortlessly. The clear instructions made setup a breeze. Built to last and highly effective, this machine earns a solid 5 stars!

This wire stripper is amazing! Solid construction, intuitive to use. I misplaced the manual to figure out how to position the wire, but after only a few minutes of trial and error, it was go time! I stripped about 30-40 feet of wire about a minute...maybe two max. It has the option for a manual crank handle...or hook it up to your drill. If you hook it to the drill, a slower speed is more managable. It can do fast, but when the wire kinks up, it slows down/stops the process. The blade was very sharp, and if you tension it correctly, it will probably remain sharp...if you overtighten it, the blade will dull. There is a replacement blade included when the original dulls appreciably.I have been saving copper scraps for a while now, and this summer I now look forward to stripping them all!

I feel like this product lives up to its promise: Strip Smarter, Not Harder! The machinery is basically one solid aluminum block. It has a good solid, sturdy feel. I have only used the handle, and haven't hooked it up to a drill. Nevertheless I found its wire stripping abilities to be good. I did some copper wire as a test and found it easy to adjust the stripper to my wire cutting needs.

When we built our house I did my own electrical work (I am not a licensed electrician, but do have experience). As I was going I tossed any wire scraps that were more than a few inches long into a 5 gallon pail and them dumped it all into a couple of big cardboard boxes. I've always meant to strip the insulation and take it to a scrap dealer, but never got around to it. Then I saw this stripper on Amazon. It's easy to set up - I don't have workbench space to dedicate to it, so I screwed it to a scrap of 2x8 wood. Then I clamped (or screwed) that to my workbench to use it. It comes with everything you need - the screws to mount it, the handle, a spare cutter wheel, and the hex wrenches for the handle and frame assembly. I set it up and stripped a few different size wires to see how it worked.I started with some 14 AWG THHN stranded wire, then went to 14 and 12 AWG Romex and finished up with some 4 AWG scraps from my hot tub install. The manual makes it seem like setup is difficult, but I found that as long as the hole was the right size, and you pretty much lined it up, it worked fine. I started with the wheel just touching the wire, and tightened it until it cut the insulation nicely.I started out with the handle, but that became old very quickly. It worked, but was not fun. My M12 Milwaukee drill made it super easy, even with the heavy gauge wire. I think a battery will last a LONG time. One tip in the manual was critical - with the bigger wire it's best to run it through twice to cut both sides of the insulation. Then it's easy to peel the insulation; it is NOT easy to peel if you only cut it once.

I'm in the remodeling business and am constantly throwing away scraps of wire. Now it will come home with me! I opened this up today and ran a few pieces of 12-2 AWG wire through it. It takes some trial and error to get the set up right in order to have the wire feed through but once you've got it, its good. Stripping the individual wires was much easier than running the full jacketed wire to break it down to the individual strands. In fact, some of the paper lining in wire gummed up in the gears that feed the wire through. Again, like most new things, there's a bit of a learning curve to get it down.As for the machine itself, it is a fairly heavy piece of equipment for its size (not too heavy per se, just weighs more than it looks like it should) which is a testament to how solid it is. It comes with a manual crank arm or you can use a power drill for really long pieces of wire. Using the crank can be a little bit of a workout but early on, it is enjoyable, especially when the jacketing just peels off so easily leaving the shiny copper behind. I haven't found a permanent spot for it yet but it has mounting holes so it can be secured to a stable surface. It also has Alan wrenches and a replacement blade.I doubt I'll make a ton of money selling scrap copper but I'm going to have fun collecting it and stripping it so easily!
