Confirm that the disk is warrantied on Seagate's site before you install it. Renewed drives can come from large data centers as part of a package deal, and Seagate won't provide warranty support for them.

Renewed, condition: new - as described! 0 hours on drives, passed short and long S.M.A.R.T. tests: array built on-time with zero errors and saved more than enough for a spare drive. Not a quiet drive, but neither are sports cars - enjoy the ride!

I would have never bought a refurbished hard drive if I hadn't found out that the new ones sold on here were OEM and had no warranty. This thing's warranty in used condition was better than the new ones. Read the reviews. So people have gotten themselves into some messes.

The hard drive I got was as promised. It had been refurbished, but works well. It's SMART info has a low power on time, so not sure if it was reset by the factory or the original owner had to RMA it right away. The huge downside was that the drive arrived in a "Write Protected" state and I was unable to use it on my computer without some IT knowledge and googling. This would have been extremely difficult or impossible for some users to get working. I gave it 2 stars mostly because of that. If you know your way around a CLI, you can safely but a 5 star drive for the price.

Was packaged better than expected. Drive had wiped SMART data I assume. I tested w/ badblocks and it ran for about 30-40 hours w/ no errors encountered, so all good with that. Drive gets hot during sustained workload, around high 40s to 50C in open air, so good airflow is needed. Dunno how difficult it would be for me to claim seller warranty/replacement after the return window passes.

I've ordered these from this seller on a couple occasions now. The product has been in great condition with no issues. Being a renewed item, there is a chance for flaws to exist and with the work I do, I can't have faulty drives, so I test each one I get to validate them prior tp use. Every drive I've received from this company is like new, looks great, functions great, and no faults any where on the disk. I highly recommend them and will continue to purchase drives from them.
