The flatwound bass string that’s been awarded many accolades since its inception in 1966. Wound with the premium alloy Monel, Jazz Bass strings sound deeper and offer more resistance than the more commonly used stainless steel wrap.

Beautiful tones, great sustains, super smooth slides. They have a deep thumping sound that really rounds out our jazz riffs and are bright enough to still hit those fuzzy metal runs.

I have strung basses many many times and this is the second one I broke while stringing. Only brand that has ever happened with. Just not for me!

I finally decided to set up a Steve Harris style p-bass. These are the exactly the same as the SH signature strings, just without his name so they are a little cheaper. The G string broke at the ball during set up.I have played bass as a hobby for almost 20 years. I currently own 9 basses. I almost always restring a new purchase with few exceptions.I'm pretty confident in my stringing abilities. I have never had a string break during set up.Daddario half rounds or EB slinky flats are smoother than these strings and have never broken on me. I will not purchase another string from this company if I can avoid it.

I’ve been an exclusive Rotosound Strings user for decades and have a variety of their strings on all of my guitars and basses. I bought a set of RS77LE bass strings at the end of May from Amazon and upon their arrival, the .095” ‘A’ string in the pack was found to be wound incorrectly. I contacted customer support at Rotosound and was taken care of with outstanding customer care. I was asked to take a picture and provide proof of purchase and in less than a week I received a replacement string. Thanks again to Jack at Rotosound for remedying the problem in short order! Oh, and these strings in this gauge are beyond reproach. Exceptional.

Ordered the Rotosound 77 Flatwoods instead of my regular Rotosound SH77 as I was in a pinch for a gig. Great strings but normally order the Steve Harris SH77. There is a difference even though the string gauges are exactly the same. The difference is in brightness, tightness and smoothness, the SH77 texture is completely smooth all the way along the string, the regular 77's have a slight gap, which probably is not the right word, but nonetheless noticeable. Spend the extra $3.00 and get the SH77s. Rotosound is still the best, been playing rock bass for over 40 years.

I bought these for my active Fender J-bass deluxe, as all my other basses except my fretless have roundwounds. I have to say that I just love the contrast in tone and playability I get from these strings on a fretted bass. The heavier gauge means you can get the action really low since the string tension is higher. And, when coupled with the insane ease of sliding up and down the fretboard on flatwound strings, you really can play fast licks and greater spans.Time will tell how these strings sound and perform in, say, 6 months' time - but I look after all my strings well (as should everyone!) by washing my hands before playing and wiping the strings down regularly with isopropyl alcohol, so I hope I'll get a good 18 months to 2 years out of them. It's great to be able to buy quality British strings, and at a very competitive price. Highly recommend!

très décu par ce jeux de cordes appelées filets plats , très rugueuses , pas lisses du tout, ne correspond pas à mon attente

I've had these on my fretless since January and it's April when I wrote this. These strings have a high tension. I have the swing bass set on my jaguar bass and switching between the two(after a few weeks of playing the rounds) I get a bit more fatigued fingers. These strings have a long life span. I had the 105 set for over a year and they still played very well (to be expected from flats since there's not much sheen to lose) the 110 gauge e makes tuning down to d and even c# a bit smoother and less floppy. Only con I can think of is that getting used to them a bit tough on the hands. But once you are all other strings will be like butter. I'd recommend them to anyone.

This is my first time using flat wound bass strings and there is indeed a noticeable difference. These strings have a very smooth feel allowing the fingers to glide up and down without the usual (screeching/squeaking) surface noise. Feels and sounds as if I'm playing a fretless bass. The most significant difference is the sound, these are definitely for players who prefer a deep, thudding bass sound akin to Jazz, Blues, Soul and Classic bass heavy Rock music e.g Led Zeppelin. While I do prefer bass strings with more of a piano sound, I no doubt can use these on a 2nd bass for my bluesier goth material.

There are a few different bass strings that I use, Rotosounds are one of my favorite strings. Once you play on these, you will not want to play on anything else. It gets rid of the fret noise. You can slide up and down the neck easy.
