I Ordered It

I ordered this Mik-Nana Food Scale to use both for figuring out portion control weights but will also occasionally use if for figuring out weights for certain recipes. I think it can be used for smaller shipping boxes too, but I have not tried it for that application so far. It appears to be a quality product and I believe it is accurate.

Review of kitchen scale from the Mik-Nana StoreThis is a basic kitchen scale. It has an on/off/tare button and a units button. The units button responds to a simple push. Pushing the on/off/tare button briefly tares (or sets to zero) the weight reading and if you keep pushing the button for just a second after that, the scale turns off. There's also a 2-minute timer that automatically turns it off if you don't. The reading is white on black or, more precisely, light grey on dark grey. Either way, it's easy to read. The scale feels lightweight. It doesn't feel cheap but it doesn't feel very expensive either. It should hold up well to regular use but I would be happier if it felt a little sturdier.MAXIMUM CAPACITY - The maximum capacity is listed as 10kg or a bit over 22 lbs. The instructions list 10kg/19lb, 15.9oz. Although I haven't been able to find anything heavy enough to get to 20lbs on the scale to test it, I think that the limit in the instructions is actually the maximum reading that the scale will give. So if you actually want to weigh something that's 21lbs, it shouldn't break the scale but I believe you will need to get your reading in some other unit and then convert it into pounds. That's assuming that you can balance your 21lb item on the 6" square platform. In practice, I find that it starts to be difficult to weigh anything over about 10lbs on the little platform. It's still comforting that the limit is much higher so I don't have to worry about breaking it.Overall, this is a simple scale that works and does its job well. It could be a little sturdier and if I actually wanted to weigh something that was 21lbs, it could be larger. It should be fine for everyday use, though.

This review is for the "Mik-Nana Food Scale, IPX6 Waterproof Digital Kitchen Scale, Weight in Grams and Ounces for Baking Cooking Coffee Package Postage, 8 Units with LCD Display, 10kg/22lbs Capacity."This digital scale has a nice stainless steel top, which is also flat. I like that the top is flat because I have another scale that has raised edges which can make it a bit hard to weight things in bowls or plates that don't quite sit flat over it, which makes them want to wiggle or shift. The display screen is easy to read. The buttons are touch activated rather than pressing in. Easy to use but also easier to accidentally activate that way. However it also means that grime won't get down around any physical buttons as the surface is totally flat with no indentations. There are multiple options for what unit of measurement can be used. When testing this scale against my other digital scale for weights in grams, they were always within .5 to 1 gram of each other. The surface area of this scale is somewhat small, but since it's flat I hope it won't be something very limiting when using large mixing bowls with it. The surface is shaped in a more elongated way than my other scale, which may help to keep the screen visible when using larger bowls on it.The display shows the battery level, which is nice if accurate. The batteries it came with were not on full charge once inserted. It would be nice if this scale were just rechargeable itself, but if you use rechargeable batteries then it could be nearly as convenient, as the batteries are easy to access because the cover can be easily opened without tools. This scale is very easy to store as it is small and slim enough.

Pros:-Easy to use-Pretty accurate, but not the best-Big platformCons:-Slow update rate as weight is changing. Takes longer to finish each measurement. Not a big deal if you are making a few big weighs, but painful if you are measuring lots of small things.

I use this scale only for measuring coffee beans for grinding, and it works really well for that.I especially like that it comes in a pretty sturdy 'flap end' type box, so I can store the scale, in it's box, in the coffee cabinet, so it's protected a bit.Otherwise, it's a scale, and measures things (at least) as accurately and precisely as I have any need for. It's' NOT sleek and super high tech or sleek looking (I have one like that - and I never use it, its so fussy to assemble and use) - but it does do the job nicely and wont break my heart or the bank if I drop it and damage it (but the 'storage box' helps reduce that risk:).A nice scale, reasonably priced, seems very accurate.
