I purchased (and returned) 6 Master Lock 107KADSPT “keyed alike” cable locks. I opened two packs and the keys would not open the other lock. I opened one more and a key in that lock would barely open one of the other two locks after much struggle. I stopped opening the packs and sent them all back. The locks work decent as a single lock but not as advertised as keyed alike locks. I should have believed other’s reviews. Wish I could give them a -0- rating.

While these aren't the smoothest opening locks in the world and the cable is a little stiff so are the ones that come with a firearm - I can't stand having different keys for every lock so these allow me to put essentially the same lock on all 21 of my rifles and only have one key on my keychain (and a back-up key in a safe place, of course). Even a small bolt cutter could go through the cable like butter - they are there to keep me legal and for no other reason.

Ordered two locks came packed with only with a key other without key. Even with key it is not smooth lock and unlock. You have to struggle with it> Master is a big company, how their quality control can let this pass. Packet was not tempered or any sign of repaking

I am confused. I got my lock today for my shotgun and I haven't opened it yet because it reads don't use with loaded weapon. I bought it because I thought it would keep my family safe if I wanted to keep it loaded and it had a lock on it. I don't want to have to keep it unloaded and I don't want a gun safe - can any body help me here? The brand is a good brand that is why I bought it.

The Master Lock 107KADSPT is "keyed alike". This means that every 107KADSPT Master Lock will use the same key. You could buy 10 of them and they will all open with the same keys. You could buy 10 more next year, and all 20 will still work with the same keys. The keys from the previous order will work on the locks from the recent order and vice versa. The advantage of this is that you could order a bunch of these locks and all of the keys will open all of the locks. The disadvantage of this is that if someone else buys a Master Lock 107KADSPT, his or her key will also work on your 107KADSPT locks, so you should keep that in mind while ordering. If you would like to order some locks that only your keys will open, choose instead , which is the same lock, but keyed differently and costs $1 less. Each lock comes with 2 keys.

This slick cable makes it a breeze to slip onto your firearm. It resists snagging on parts. For example, I use it on my SKS Type 56 and 59 through the internal mags. I use this through my M38 Swedish and M48 Yugoslavian Mausers. The bonus here is that the locks are keyed the same, so no more having 6 keys for 6 different cable locks, I just need the one key.Highly recommended as this is a great product.

This lock isn't easier to use than $3-or-free cheap generic locks. It doesn't strike me a more secure either. Unfortunately the body of the lock isn't totally plastic coated either, so you may need to wrap it in some electric tape to prevent scratches. The reason I payed the brand-name premium for this is that I can find "regular" padlocks (7KA model) that will take this key as well. That means I can lock ammo cans, cases, cabernet doors, etc. with the same key.

love these locks because they're same key, basically cheap masterlock base and not sure if it's plastic covered steel cable center. They don't flex all that well either because of the construction of the cable which has this black plastic like coating on it. Good enough to lock between bolt and mag bay though which is required by law. But overall it does its job and probably 100x better then the cheap china made locks it came with.

The lock is DOJ approved and keyed alike so you don't need to keep around dozens of keys.Be SURE that the gun you're transferring _doesn't_ have a lock before you buy, unless you want a few of these lying around just in case. Sometimes the FFL dealer tries to make a quick buck selling you a lock when inside the box, there's one already. This lock's cable was long enough to put through everything I own and is coated so it won't scratch up finishes; would be good if you need a quick lock for a handgun case too.Bottom line: DOJ approved, long enough, keyed alike, cheap.
