I purchased this filter as I already had the little stopper (6 stops) but found there were many situations where I needed more stops on the filter to give me a longer exposure. The 10 stop Big Stopper is a great addition to my collection giving me really long exposure time. The quality of the filters are really pro grade, well made and give no colour cast. They come in a really nice protective case and if looked after will last and last. Highly recommended

Incredible as expected. Glass is perfect meaning no irregularities, blemishes, or anything else. Color caste is a fact of life, figure it out. Cheers!

Beautiful ND filter from Lee. When I first started getting into ND filters, the Lee "Little Stopper" was my first purchase. I used it quite a lot to smooth out ocean water, waterfalls, clouds, that kind of stuff. Great piece of glass. However, I could never get the smoothness I was looking for, so I added this "Big Stopper" to my kit. For me, this filter is the perfect strength. 10-stops allows me to slow the shutter far longer than the Little Stopper, which gives me smoother results with anything in motion. The results feel more intentional and artistic than what I was getting out of the Little Stopper. Love it! Note that this glass is different from the Little Stopper however, for it adds a strong blue color cast to your images. That means you'll absolutely have to shoot in RAW so you can correct/negate that blue color cast by adjusting its tint/white balance in post. Would not recommend shooting in JPG with this filter, for your images will come out bluer than you expect. Finally, this 10-stop filter is dark, so once you attach it to your camera you may not be able to see your composition through the camera viewfinder. For those situations you'll want to find the "proper" exposure of your scene by shooting an image or two without the ND filter, then use those exposure settings with Lee Filter mobile app to figure out what shutter speed you should use with the Big Stopper attached. I've found the calculations provided by the app to be spot-on and super easy to use. All in all, a beautiful filter which should last a lifetime. Well worth the investment.

I love my Lee’s filters! The quality of these filters is top notch. The Big Stopper is perfect for softening clouds or water. It can also be used for showing motion of people, cars, etc. I have also been able to use it for removal of people in a scene. If they are moving enough the sensor don’t pick them up.The filter adds a very slight warm color. This is easily corrected in Lightroom of Photoshop. There have been times that I liked the warmth, so I didn’t correct it.

Very useful filter for getting long exposures but you need the app from Lee to easily calculate the proper exposure .... most, if not all DSLR's can not take a through the lens meter reading through this ND filter but the Lee app is very easy to use. Good quality glass filter with no detectable colour cast. I am currently using this filter in Iceland to blur out waterfalls by way of long exposures. Very satisfied!

I have many different Lee ND gradient filters and like them. Their size is larger than the 100mm x 100mm Big Stopper -- for adjusting the position of the gradient in the FOV. My Big Stopper however suffers light leakage on the ends. I have messed around trying to adjust the position and no matter what I get light leakage. The foam stop does not seal well enough and/or the size of the filter is just not big enough? Perhaps if it was 100mm x 110mm this problem would be resolved. I see other complaints on the internet about this issue. It is a show stopper (no pun intended..) when you do long exposure and have light leaking. BTW, I do cover up my viewfinder when doing these long exposures, the light leakage is from the Lee filter...

What can you say about Lee Filters?! The best out there! I'm having a blast taking long exposures and learning new teqniches in my photography. Of course, friends and family are totally amazed at my talent.......... So I won't tell them it's Lee that makes me look good lol!! The Lee Big Stopper is a 10-stop neutral density filter that cuts 10 stops of light, making for some interesting photos! Get it, play with it, learn with it, and take your photography to the next level!!

That sound like a title of a Western......30 seconds at noon, but it is an appropriate one in my opinion! This thing will stop the light for you! I was able to create a glassy bottom in a pond at noon by getting perfectly exposed shot that was 30 seconds long when light could not have been worse!A turbulent sea can be turned into ocean of tranquility with this filter! it gives you ideas and tool to take your game to next level! There are no distortions and you don't have to sacrifice the image quality. If anything, some of my day-time shots where I did not want to slow down the shutter speed did not come out as good as the ones with this filter. What is troubling is that it is not very big, so you have to make sure it is aligned properly in your adapter, otherwise you may get distortion at the edge and you have to crop it out but you will lose the original composition if you change image. Also, sometimes you can't even get focus with this filter on at day-time because it is that dark. You can not see anything through your view-finder. So fist you have to set up the shot, and then you have to get focus, then you have to move it to manual-focus so it doesn't accidentally change or lose focus by trying to get one, then you have to carefully stick the filter in holder and hope not to change your comp or move your tripod. So it is work......but all good things require work and a struggle! This filter is allowing me to create shots that i wanted to create! That is all that matters! There is nothing equivalent! There is no substitute!

There's better. But for the price, you won't beat the Lee Big Stopper. If you're looking at this thing, that means you know what it is, and what it's for. If you want to do a 30 second to several minute exposure during the day time, this thing will let you do that. Understand that no ND filter has perfect color, this will have a color cast. I find it to give a cool bluish color cast, which you can easily correct in post (I simply alter the temperature in DPP to warm it up).Understand you have to get a filter holder and a wide angle filter ring adapter. So expect another $150 on top of this. The alternative is to simply use rubber bands and make it stick to the front of a lens. Remember you can use step up/down rings so that you can just get one adapter and use it on any lens. Buy big and stop down (get it?).
