At the time of writing there are only two other reviews, and they’re both five stars. I honestly don’t know how they came to those conclusions, because what I received looks like it came from the eternal $5 bin at my local hardware store.Yes, they come individually packaged; each bit bagged and then sealed in a flimsy plastic container. The lengths they went to in order to protect these bits makes what I found that much worse. As soon as I get any new router bits I always inspect them for damage and wear. This visual inspection is an important step when deciding the safety of any tool, but especially with router bits. Cost-cutting measures which would normally be considered acceptable for other products have the potential to cause serious injury, blindness, fire, or even death when it comes to router bits.So you can imagine my concern when multiple bits showed signs of severe damage right out of the box. I included photos of the two worst offenders. One of the bits has one large chunk and several smaller chunks missing from one of its blades. The other bit has a broken corner. Besides the damage, notice the signs of wear and distress on the body of the bits. It’s not uncommon for the paint on budget-friendly bits to be scuffed and scratched in places, but this seems excessive, even when compared to the cheapest bits I’ve used in the past. What should concern you the most is that the majority of the damage is located on the cutting edges. This is the portion of the steel meant to be the strongest, and we rely on that fact before using our routers. The market for safety goggles and neck guards would be much larger if any of us actually believed the cutting edge could fail this spectacularly, and yet here it is, and on “brand new” bits at that.If I hit a metal fastener in the wood and I saw this kind of damage to the bit, I would probably decide to retire it. I’ve hit staples, embedded nails in hardwood knots, and even the occasional screw head, but I’ve never incurred damage to the bit, and certainly never to this extent.Tools are expensive, and it doesn’t help that they generally all have a limited lifespan. We WILL replace them at some point. That’s just the nature of what we do. So when we see low-priced tools and supplies naturally we’re all a little interested, but at some point the low price stops being a feature and starts looking more like a red flag.I still don’t know how these bits will perform, since I’m not sure if they’re even safe to use at this point. That’s the only reason I didn’t give them the lowest rating possible. I’m reserving full judgment in the hope that a terrible mistake was made and the undated bits will perform just fine. But honestly, looking at this kind of damage makes me concerned about the other people who’ve purchased these bits, and having seen no damage on theirs, have put their trust in them implicitly. If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that these are NOT five-star router bits. Not even close. You’ve been warned.

These work great at a price better than i can find locally. I regularly use straight, 2 flute bits with my 3040 CNC and hand router. These are perfect for my needs cutting softer woods. They look and feel to be the same quality of other bits in a similar price range. They're very sharp out of the box and actually are sharper than I usually get out of generic imported bits. Cutting performance on the 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" bits is great for the price. I haven't used the others yet but I'm confident they'll work just as well. Are there better bits that will last longer? Sure, if you want to pay much more for them. For my small production, DIY needs they're great. They cut well and have reasonable durability which is all you can ask. In the past I've reworked and sharpened a lot of router bits by hand. With affordable sets like these it often isn't worth the time and effort.PROS:+ Cut well+ Balanced well+ Affordable price offers a good value+ If disaster strikes and you hit something you aren't supposed to, these don't cost an arm and a leg to replace.+ Came bagged and in plastic bit boxes to protect them.CONS:- Paint/coating finish isn't fantastic on some of the bits but it is inconsequential- May not last as long as pricier bitsOverall I'm very pleased with this set. I'd buy them again and they work just as well as much pricier bits in the soft woods I cut. For most DIYer and hobbyist needs, this quality is just fine.

It is a very nice time saver to have a selection of widths like this. Instead of needing multiple passes to get the correct width I can just choose the perfect sized bit for the job. Quality wise I have no complaints. They likely won't last anywhere near as long as more expensive bits, but they are still perfect for someone who only does a small job now and then, but wants to have the right size when you do. When they do start to show signs of wear I'll have a better idea of what width I'm using most. A good set at a good price.

I see that the reviews on these are quite mixed, but my bits have none of the issues noted by other reviewers. Perhaps there was a bad batch? My bits all have extremely sharp edges with no nicks or imperfections. You can see in my closeup a little overhang, but that's excess paint that came right off with my fingernail. I am a novice router user, so perhaps I could get a cleaner cut with a different bit. However, I am by no means making furniture art. My cabinets will be used in my overland camper van where they will no doubt be beat up regularly by my rockhounding lifestyle, so I don't need them to be perfect. I am pleased with these bits, especially for the price.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The very low cost of these bits is reflected in the quality of the product, which makes them unsuitable for safe use.  While the set I received did not have the chips in the cutting edge that at least one other reviewer has noted, on one of them the depth of the cutting surfaces was an easily observable 1/16" different from one side to the other.  In another one, a large burr was left hanging from one of the blades; if it detached in use it could possibly result in serious eye damage.
