The rubber finger guard stinks - as in it smells so bad I just about gagged while using it. I cannot imagine it tastes very good if it smells this bad. I'd feel like I'm torturing my dogs if I used this on them. Yeah, it is THAT bad!

He was NOT a fan of the bite blocker but it did the job. I have not actually had to use it again though because he seems to approve of the brush. He's letting me do more than he ever has, without the bite blocker. I've used a couple different goops and so far he seems satisfied with the process so yeah... I'm happy.

I had high hopes that this would be a miracle tool that would instantly enable me to easily brush my dog's teeth. That didn't happen. But it's not due to any fault in the product. I've attempted brushing in the past and always gave up because it was just too difficult. That said, the bite prevention tool is a genius idea. It gently holds the mouth open for easier access to the teeth. And the shape of the toothbrush is so much more practical than the toothbrushes that I've attempted to use in the past. It's very easy to hold and maneuver. And the double brushing heads, in 2 different sizes, is perfect for those of us who have large and small dogs. I will eventually be able to use this dental hygiene kit effectively, after I gradually acclimate my dogs to brushing.

So, my little girl took to this right away as we already have something at home, I use for her that has the same concept applied. The problem for me with this item was the shape of the bite block and also that they don't state if this is natural rubber or not. The bite block fit in her back teeth, but I wasn't able to lift up the gums and brush successfully at the same time while holding the bite block and having her constantly try to chew it and the fact that my finger in the bite block gets in the way of brushing. And for me the bristles on the brush are too hard.

I got this because my dog is a total jerk and just refuses to let me bush his teeth. I'm not sure if he thinks its a game we play or he's just allergic to being clean, but every time I try to clean his teeth, its a long, drawn-out process. I watched to training video and started to work on that with my dog. He seems to be responding well, but does struggle between wanting to run away and biting on the biteblock. I will probably have to go through a few more training sessions before I can give so more concrete opinion on the effectiveness of the product. Although my dog is still struggling with getting his teeth cleaned, the process is much much better. This is probably due to the biteblock. He now has another variable to distract him from the actual cleaning process, so I did find it easier than before. Of course this is a your miles may vary type of product, so your experience with your pet may be better or worse than mine. Without a doubt, cleaning my dog's teeth has become so much more enjoyable compared to before. That's a win in my book.

I have an 18 pound miniature schnauzer. He loves to lick the toothpaste off the toothbrush. I figured the biteblock would help with teeth brushing, and it does. It does a nice job of keeping his mouth open. Brushing his teeth is still a two person job, one person to hold the dog, the other person to hold the bite block and the toothbrush. The toothbrush has a very long handle. The toothbrush has a centered grip feature which makes it easy to hold. The heads on this toothbrush are longer, and bigger, than any heads I’ve seen on other toothbrushes.Toothbrush has a rubberized textured pattern on the back of the head, I think that is supposed to be a tongue scraper. I think the best way to get that to work would be to put just a tiny bit of toothpaste on that and let him lick it.The next thing I’m working on will be to teach him to “take “the bite block and hold it in his mouth, as seen in the video on the product webpage.
