Sliced bread and bore snakes are sort of the same thing. Taken for granted.I dip the brushed portion of the bore snake in cleaner, and then squeeze that out. Works perfect. Over time, the cleaner migrates to the entire length of the snake - making it softer and more pliable. This makes it easier to thread the weight through too.Biggest issue and the reason for 4 stars only is that all the snakes are exactly the same color and pattern. I can't tell my .22lr from my .38 from my .44 at a glance. You have to look at all three - in the middle brush section, then arrange them in order to know what size they are. I know that's nit picky, but I keep all of them together in one pocket to save space in my range kit.Highly recommend.

Does the job well, used it on my ruger pc carbine, very happy with it, have the 22 and 12 gauge one as well and they all work well
