This is like a phone without the cellular service. It connects to WiFi. This has been great for us as my toddler likes to play Spotify on my phone. Well now he has his own little device to play music on. We are an iPhone household and this appears to be a Google operated device. So a bit of a learning curve for us but it is pretty intuitive.

This MP3 player is actually really cute. My kids are somewhere in that in-between phase—preteen to teen—so it might seem a little young for them at first glance, but I actually ordered it with a specific purpose in mind. I wanted a way to give them access to things like our Kindle library and Spotify—especially on nights when they’ve misplaced their devices or when it’s past the time limit. Our Wi-Fi shuts down at 8 p.m. every night, and sometimes the kids still want to read or listen to music. This has been a perfect in-between tool that lets them enjoy content without being exposed to social media, online distractions, or everything else that comes with fully connected devices.Managing tech and social media with kids can be incredibly difficult, so I love that this gives them a safe way to still access things I’m completely fine with—like books and music—without the need for constant content monitoring.Honestly, this would’ve been really handy even when they were younger, too. It supports apps like Kindle, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Spotify (depending on how you set it up), so it’s a great little device if you’re wanting to foster a love of reading and music while avoiding the wild west of the internet.A few thoughtful touches: it comes with a little case and a screen protector (though I messed mine up a bit with a few air bubbles, which isn’t a big deal), and it includes an SD card with the option to format it your way during setup—which I really appreciated. One thing to note: the device does get quite warm when in use, which is a bit of a concern and something I’ll be keeping an eye on.All in all, though, it’s a handy little tool that allows kids to enjoy some age-appropriate content and screen time without the stress of managing a full-blown smart device. Definitely a win for our family.

Easy to connect via bluetooth. Great download speed from PC and the touch screen is sensitive. Love the sound too. Highly recommended for kids since it has parental control feature, which is a plus.

**3/5 Stars - Limited functionality, better off with a tablet**Honestly don't really like this. I guess I had higher expectations for this, despite it being labeled as just an MP3 player.Couldn't figure out how to add my own preferred music apps because I couldn't find the Play Store. It comes with Apple Music, Spotify, Spotify Kids, Audible, Kindle, a torrent app, and Amazon Music pre-installed, but you're stuck with just those options.I think this product is kind of a waste, especially for a kid. For a similar price or slightly more, I would rather have a tablet that can take pictures and run different apps as well as play any of the music apps I want. This feels too limited for what you're paying. It does come with a silicone case and screen protector, which is nice, but that doesn't make up for the restricted functionality. If you're looking for something more versatile for your child, I'd recommend considering other options.

First thing you'll want to do as an adult is use the parental control app. That's where you can set up usage schedules and reduce or restrict certain app usage. As this is an android device it can run everything that supports version 9.After that you basically set it up like you would a new phone, which is basically what it is without a sim card!8 core chip, 2 gigs of memory, 16gigs onboard storage, and a 64gig TF card means you can hold tons of books, music, and even a decent amount of video, especially if it's sized appropriately for the screen. The speaker is decent, a little distortion at the highest level. Thankfully the external speaker isn't actually that loud. Good enough to listen to but not that it will disturb others in the next room. Volume settings are thankfully separate for headphones, bluetooth or wired, and the speaker. The provided headphones actually sound pretty good, and work really well with the radio app.Colour rendition is decent, and the screen comes with a screen protector. There's also a transparent case for the device. At under $50 this is a pretty decent device for what it can do. I also like the small size. If this worked as a phone I'd carry it with me instead of my much larger phone(I yearn for the day of tiny nokias).

This came in a cute box and all of us are enjoying it.It includes a clear case, USB-C cable, screen protector, 64 GB MicroSD card, and earphones! It's a small form factor that fits in our hands and has a very grippy texture on the sides and back. It feels well protected. I wish our smart phones were like that instead of using silly breakable glass on the back (seriously, phone manufacturers are not very smart). This one is great (note that it's not a phone but has the shape of one).It has a 3.5mm headphone jack (yay, again, phone manufacturers show how silly they are by removing this very important port), MicroSD card slot, a power button and volume buttons. It uses Android 9 and has an option to update with a MicroSD Card file. I haven't tested that nor did I verify if there's an update. It has Wi-Fi, screen brightness control, Bluetooth, and more.It runs a limited version of Android, phew, and the icons and wallpapers mostly indicate that it's aimed at children (but at the same time, it doesn't matter since they're very nice and not baby'ish). But, that doesn't deter adults because it has a lot of features and settings. It's a music player, a DAP, and more. The music played is of good quality, meaning the sound quality is great. It has many different apps, and it's really easy to use. Some are geared towards adults, some for everyone.Media & Viewing Apps- Gallery (for pictures and more)- Videos- KMPlayer- Kindle- ReadEraAudio & Music Apps- Spotify- Spotify Kids- Audible- Amazon Music- Apple Music- Sound Recorder- FM RadioUtility & Productivity Apps- Chrome browser- Calculator- Calendar- Clock / Alarm / Stopwatch- File Manager- Bluetooth- Parental ControlsLots of apps, and it's not just a music player, as you can see. Very handy device. It also has a limited Android Settings section with security for screen lock, and a lot more actually. While it's limited, it still has the necessary ones to set this up the way you want to.The best part is that, in the Parental Controls app, us parents can limit what apps they use. Yep, we can block apps, limit time, etc. There's no Play Store from what I can see so you cannot add new apps, phew! No distractions and safer for children. We can set it so that the player turns off after x set minutes, or set to never so it doesn't turn off. Turn off as in shut down, not just screen timeout. So, this is handy and saves battery. We can also schedule when it turns on and off. Love that feature. It has a speaker and a microphone. Mic is low quality. Speakers are low quality as well but they serve their purpose and it's nice to have speakers in a DAP.The screen is not AMOLED so it's better on the eyes.Fully recommended.
