I took the holder that secures the salad lid tops together off to clean it good, but somehow I lost it within a day of putting away dishes. I have tried to reach out to the seller, but haven't heard back from themThe pics show the part missing and someone else's pic with the piece. My mistake but I will pay for the replacement part if someone would just let me know HOW to get one. As for the use of the spinner, NICE

This is the second salad spinner that I have bought on Amazon. What I like about this one better than other ones I have had in the past is that it spins smoother when you're rotating it and has less resistance so that it works better. And it doesn't slide across the table because it has a rubber bottom on it. So far I like it, but only time will tell if it has the durability that you would expect something to have.

My previous salad spinner broke and this is something I use everyday so it was important to find a good quality one that would last. I scoured Amazon looking for one that was reasonably priced but still great quality. I ordered this one and couldn’t be happier! The top hand crank is an upgrade from the pull string style spinner I previously owned and it spins the veggies much faster getting them dryer, quicker. The basket is pretty big so it fits a good bit of stuff inside and you can dump the water out of the top spout without taking the lid off. The clear plastic shell is a decent thickness so I’m not worried about it cracking mid use. If you want a great salad spinner that doesn’t break the bank go with this one!

My old salad spinner which I bought at a garage sale over 20 years ago finally broke for good after rigging it up for many years. I've used this new one once or twice to dry Romaine lettuce leaves. Even with my old spinner, I usually will put a small amount of lettuce in at a time and will spin for a minute or so, check it, and then spin it for another minute or so. It did the job. I'm not saying there is no moisture on the leaves at all, but the vast majority of the water is at the bottom of the outer bowl. To those reviews I read (either on this one or the many others I read from other brands) where the lettuce is still "wet" after spinning, I would suggest: 1) Put only a small amount of lettuce in at a time, 2) Whenever you take lettuce out that's dried, take the inner basket out and dump the water out the old-fashioned way which I was used to with my old spinner. I noticed that there is a spout on top (which my old one didn't have), but I was skeptical to use it thinking that if you weren't careful, you could re-wet the lettuce. 3) Don't expect every speck of water to be gone unless you want to spin for a very long time. To me the point is to get enough excess water off so you don't have a bunch at the bottom of your salad bowl. What I like about it: 1) The color! Yours was probably one of the few I saw that came in this light blue color and was reasonably priced. One other one came in this color but the reviews said they received a different color and in fact it said you would get any color and had no choice. Most of the salad spinners I looked at were green and I really don't like it that much so it was refreshing to find one in this color. 2) The material on the bottom of the outer bowl that holds it in place. My old one had no such thing so I would walk around the kitchen with it holding it firmly with one arm and spinning with the other. 3) I like the fact that the lid locks. My old one did not have that and the lid would come off at some point if I wasn't holding it down with a finger. 4) When you stop spinning, the inner basket stops too. With my old spinner I literally would have to take the top off and stop the inside bowl from spinning with my hand. 5) I actually like it being smaller because it doesn't take up so much room in my cupboard and if I still feel the need to put my arm around it, then it is easier to do because my arms are short. 6) It just overall functions massively better than my old one. I was always having to do something to compensate a problem to make it work right. 7) The outer bowl is extremely thick plastic and doesn't appear that it would easily crack/break. The inner basket is thinner than my old one, but I think it is thick enough to hold up. Even though a lot of these spinners say you can put them in the dishwasher - don't. It somehow degrades the plastic over time and makes it easier to crack/break. I always hand washed my old one. Some thoughts for improvement: 1) If I were to design a salad spinner, I would put a spigot or a capped hole of some type towards the bottom of the outer bowl instead of a hole at the top, like they do with large coolers. 2) While I love the fact that the lid locks, I'm not all that fond of the latching-type lock that is used with this product. It makes the lid kind of clunky and while washing and moving the lid, it tends to grab onto other things that might get into it's way. I think if the latches themselves were shorter, this would help this problem. Overall, I gave the product a 5 because it does what it says it will do and it looks very nice.
