余ったスピーカーの有効利用の為試しに買ってみたが値段の割に多機能で良いと思います（余計なエフェクトとかは使いませんが）各chごとに音量調整出来て良いと思います流石にタイムアライメントは出来ないのでなんちゃってホームシアターとしてはアリかとただわざわざ7.1ch分のアンプとスピーカー揃えてまで買うべき価値は見出せないので余り物の流用とかジャンク品で安く仕上げたい方には面白い一品です

i used this on both Windows 10 and 11, and currently works just fine on a Zorin OS (Ubuntu fork) NUC. no extra drivers needed, plug and play. will buy again if i need another.

Great little sound card. Easy to install, just plug in the USB cable and you are ready to go. Works great and had a "Line In" input that I needed. I found a lot of USB sound cards but most don't have a "Line In", and I've used it with Windows 10 and Windows 11 .. works great with both. Very happy!!

The driver installed without any issues. It took a bit of fiddling with the settings, but I now have 5.1 in W11Pro on a Dell laptop. No idea about 7.1 though.The LED is very bright so I covered it with a piece of tape.

Even tho this didn't work as intended it is a much better card than what is in a mini pc, stronger signal and better sound.It seems cool, the software is old-school but works.So, the issues with surround sound is the source needs to support it. I wanted this to setup a highpass filter on front speakers but not the sub. We'll ELF channel doesn't send signal unless it's a SS source.The sub has a low pass filter so it's fine being connected to center channel which is always on regardless of source. The real issue is that no matter what eq software I use it doesn't have an effect below 150hz, you cannot cut the lower frequency which is surprising, the software that comes with it will do this but it will apply it to all channels including center making it not work for the sub. Unless I can figure something else out but it's still better.

Does not work in windows 11, 10, 7.I replaced the drivers, tried comparability modes, 5 different PCs. Nothing worked.I could get sound, but as others have stated. They could only get 2.1 sound out of it.Configuring the software, (test mode where it plays sound through each speaker) The voice would be different with the R and L front but the rest was the same. Meaning when each other speakers should only play sound; It all comes through the front R and L speakers.example test should say "Right front speaker, Left front speaker" these two were correct. The rest like Left rear speaker, Right rear speaker and so on would only play through the front two speakers. The center and the sub were the same as well.I made sure that each speaker worked individually.There is something wrong with the digital to analog decryption of this unit.DO NOT BUY! unless you have an old system still using 32 bit OSI know it says its compatible. No way I could find searching Google and YouTube.

I have a mini gaming PC that only has output for stereo sound. Due to compact form factor installing a discrete sound card was not an option. With this external USB sound card solution I can now output to my Logitech THX 5.1 theater system to get phenomenal sound. This works on Ubuntu. No special drivers were necessary, just plug it in. Specifically, it worked on Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS, plugged into an old USB 2.0 port. In Ubuntu settings, the device appears as "CM106 Like Sound Device" using the "Analog Surround 7.1 Output" configuration. I've tested it with a full set of 7.1 speakers and they all work as expected. The software that accompanies the device was not needed. The sound quality is better than what is built into my 2015-era motherboard.However, like with many sound cards, the subwoofer and center speakers were switched. This happens on both Windows and Linux. You do not need to buy a physical adapter to fix it. A small edit to a text file and a reboot fixes it. Do an internet search on these terms to find the instructions on multiple websites: "pulseaudio alsa mixer default.conf subwoofer not working Linux switch".

Worked great for a while aside from having to manually swap the center and sub channels. Now, after running for a short time, the light will start to flash and then it will disconnect and reconnect causing the speakers to pop and sound to briefly come out of an alternate output. The light will go solid again for a time and then randomly start flashing again.

I hooked it up to my new MSI Raider GE78 HX laptop that has Windows 11 Pro. Installed the included driver and it was nearly useless, only gave 2-channel analog output.I then found a newer driver from a product that uses the same chip, and it worked. Thedriver was on the startech website.

I bought it so I can record multitrack music with a laptop pc, it does the work. I only use the line in input, I connect my 4 channel behringer mixer to that line input and I record 1 instrument at a time so no problem there. Latency is ok
