This review is for the Flyspear wireless pet barrier listed at $99.99.I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to order this at first, although I do have a need for a barrier. I’m not the most technologically savvy person and wasn’t looking forward to setting up the system. I was pleasantly surprised, however. Flyspear provides numerous easy to follow videos and included with the kit are manuals with complete instructions. My dog is enchanted with the garbage can, and although it has a tight-fitting lid, I don’t want to run the risk of her ever knocking it over. The Flyspear system allows me to set up a barrier around the can, but without preventing her from accessing other parts of the room since the ‘forbidden’ area is adjustable from less than a foot to 7 feet. It’s expandable also, so I can set up a barrier in another area by adding an additional transmitter in a different location. The collar is waterproof so if Zahra needs a bathroom break while it’s raining, the collar can be left on her. The transmitter can be mounted on a wall if you want or just left on the ground – there’s no inconvenient setup involving wall anchors, or screws. Since it’s completely wireless, I didn’t have to run a bunch of wires in my home.I like that the system allows for a warning beep, instead of instantly going to static as this is a much gentler way to train.Overall, this is a great system that even a non-tech savvy person can set up. I wish I had ordered this sooner.

I really don't like using things like this, but my indoor cat started going outside. Outside is specifically for our dog to relieve herself, and I don't want the problems of my cat wandering around the neighborhood, or removing my dogs dog door. I actually watched my cat jump back on my door camera a couple of times before giving up on going through the door. She only had to wear this for a couple weeks, and is now unwilling to go near the dog door anymore. Hopefully I don't have to use this again, but I'm glad to know it works if I do need to.

We are using the device to keep a medium sized two brain cells white fluff ball from letting himself outside. Before we got this barrier, our cat, Beanie, would run through door whenever it was open or try to open it himself. Everytime, he would roll in the mud, sing the song of his people loud enough the neighbors would chase him, and bring in fleas. Until we re-home him, we needed to find a solution for him letting himself out.The receiver on the collar is a looks a little big on his neck but the collar fits him. We leave the transmitter by the door set on about 4 feet. When Beanie got within the barrier it beeps twice and them gives a mild shock. Beanie is quickly learning not to go near doors. The kit did not come with instructions so my husband and I took turns playing the game of figure it out by testing it on ourselves. We found the shocking setting on 3 puts out a startling shock that does not hurt. The shocking setting on 5 and 6 hurts.

I always test on myself before even considering using something like this on a pet. The range is pretty good so if you are trying to break a stubborn pet from getting into the trash or something, it will do the job. It gives a very localized zap that feels more like a sting or pinch. Not really painful, just one of those sensations that catches you off guard. Has a ton of settings so you can decide what works best. We found that the warning beep alone is generally enough of a deterrent. Price is not bad considering the battery life and ease of set up.

Surprisingly effective for keeping your dog away from an area without needing to supervise constantly! I used this to set a boundary to keep my cavalier out of the kitchen at all times, and the adjustable range worked alright once set up.. Did have issues with the warning beep being inconsistent. It would beep my dog when ALMOST in range but not quite, so i had to set it to a 3 even though a 4 is what should have worked, but it was beeping him slightly out of that range. Setup took a bit of patience, but once configured, it kept my dog where he needed to be without distress. The static settings are mild enough to be safe but still get the message across. and the shock absolutely WORKS!

Training your dog not to go where you don’t want him to go can be tricky and take lots of practice but with wireless pet barrier device it makes training a bit simpler. This device allowed me to set the range I want to restrict my dog from entering and it makes a beeping sound when he’s withing that range. My dog has yet to adapt to the beeping sound but I point my fingers at him and give him that dirty look so he knows not to go there. I also enforced that good behavior with a treat as a reward for him being good. Right now, I have the static electricity corrector set to max at level 6 to help him learn but soon I won’t have to even use this collar at all. This collar doesn’t seem to bother him much since he’s used to wearing a dog tag. This device has a long-lasting rechargeable battery that lasts awhile before it needed to be recharged. It will take some time for my dog to learn where he’s prohibited but for now this collar at least hinder him and train him not to go where he’s not allowed to.

This wireless pet barrier effectively keeps our dog out of restricted areas such as the kitchen and near the trash can. The adjustable range settings is simple to configure. It is also rechargeable and portable, making it easy to move between rooms. It works well in a variety of settings, whether it is hung or flat. It's a great solution without the need for gates or other more intrusive solutions!
