I’m using these on a thinnish rug on a wood floor. The primary problem was furniture on the rug making the corners askew occasionally, and the backing is one of the more stiff kind that can get bunched up and then stay a little wrinkled even when it’s straightened out. So I made sure that my rug was perfectly straight, that I was getting my edges under the appropriate furniture pieces, and then made sure the wood floor was very very clean before I stuck the rug to the floor. It’s not budging now, even if I accidentally drag my feet or when vacuuming. I’m a little nervous about eventual residue on the wood floor if I ever decide to go rug-less, but I’d use these again if I just replace the rug because they’ve cut out a whole lot of hassle. Vacuuming is easier and faster, and I don’t have to wrestle the rug anymore. The initial time and effort investment is way worth it in the long run.
