The throw rug stays in place by using these. One thing though is that over time you will probably have to replace them if you have them on a painted floor. The adhesive has already pulled off some of the paint and I imagine it might become less stable at some point.

I guess I was expecting some kind of magic or something, similar to the old rug pads that would go completely underneath the rugs. But let these are are a thick piece of material with adhesive on both sides. I am very uncomfortable putting this on my very expensive hardwood floor, so I am going to see how it goes. Once you take the backing off of both sides of the sticky thing you will not be able to tell which side goes on the floor and which goes on the rug because to me it seems exactly the same.

Does not even begin to hold the corner of the rug down. Total waste of money.
