Customize the (spider or biscuit-bridge) resonator guitar sound with a Maple saddle for rich tone and the traditional vintage sound that only comes from hardrock maple. Replogle Reso maple saddles bring the time-honored dobro tone while providing the strength and volume of the traditional maple saddle. The maple base with a full ebony cap configuration is a variation that is available for those players that use string sets of heavier gauges, giving an even tone on those special sets, yielding a much more even and balanced sound. The saddle requires final trimming and slotting.

I did not attempt to install this saddle until several weeks after receiving it, and then discovered a large flaw, a chunk of the ebony missing along the grain structure, where the ebony meets the maple on one end of the saddle. Now, I have to figure out what to use to fill in the defect....epoxy, wood filler, or...? UPDATE: repaired the saddle with plumbers epoxy (Oatey brand), which worked just fine. No stars added, because the saddle should not have shipped with such an obvious flaw. On the upside, because the saddle was slightly oversize in all dimensions, I was able to file/sand it to shape it to an exact fit. It is a very snug fit on the guitar, better than the OEM. Winning.
