Got this for making cake pops. Needed it for turning the white chocolate shell and it did great. No weird flavor even when I used HALF THE BOTTLE. Not a big issue, but if it requires half a bottle to make about 2 cups of melted white chocolate turn into a deep purple for Viking colors (purple & gold) then it gets kind of old fast. BUT, on the plus side, I got to the desired color and the chocolate did not seize up which was so relieving. Overall good, down a star for the amount I had to use, but still worth it if you ask me. Achieved purple color shown in the far right cake pop.

The coloring has a weird smell and taste. The quantity was worth the money and it mixes very well with chocolate. I try not to use a whole lot when using it to keep from getting the taste/smell it gives off. Smells almost musty.

Takes the whole bottle to make black and it’s still like grey

- [ ] The chocolate food coloring does well in the sense that it doesn’t interfere with the tempering of my chocolate, it doesn’t cause it to seize, or change the flavor. However, it takes a lot of drops to obtain a red color. It takes at least one drop for every gram of chocolate used. To give you an idea of what that means, take your average chocolate chip bag, which is 11.5 ounces or 312 g. You would need over 312 drops just to get that little bag of white chocolate chips to turn red.In my photo, I have a tomato for reference next to a disk of chocolate that I made using 14 g of chocolate and 14 drops of red.

I don't usually color chocolate, except for very rare occasions. However, I have to admit that this colorant worked better than others I've tried. I had to use quite a bit of coloring to get the depth of color I wanted in white chocolate. I stopped counting drops and just started squeezing a stream. Surprisingly, I couldn't taste any difference in the chocolate, so I think it's a good coloring agent.I also used it for candle making, as it's oil-based. It worked much better with fewer drops for that use case. This is a great way to use up out-of-date oil coloring.

I was so excited when I found this oil based food coloring that said that it worked with chocolate. I’ve tried a lot of different liquid and powder food colorings with not a lot of success in the past. I have been making molded chocolates for many years and have not found a good food coloring that did not clump chocolate up or take a ton of color to get any pigmentation. But this food coloring works great and does not thicken up chocolate or require a lot of coloring to get a true color. I will definitely be buying more colors from the same company!
