My cat loves these more than churu. And he loves churu. But opening the bag releases a powerful, concentrated fishy odor, and it takes a while for the room to recover every time you open the bag. The smell can waft all the way across a 20 foot room. There may be a way to control it. I haven’t tried. He also loves the shrimp but they stink too, and if you order them online you will get a bag of shrimp crumbs. If you worry about the smell, try the turkey giblets. He loved those until he discovered whitefish. He tries every day to open his airtight treat container and will eat through the plastic bag if I don’t put them away fast enough. He was okay with chicken and turkey, but they didn’t excite him. My cat will not touch the salmon and we haven’t tried the tuna yet because it is hard to find.

This used to be my go to brand for freeze dried whitefish treats for my cat. The quality has really went down over the last couple of years and now most of the chunks have skin on them which the cat doesn't like or the chunks are really hard. I've switched to another brand but Amazon was out and tried to go back to this and the cat won't even eat it.

Wonderful treat for a dog that has limited ingredients. Mine loves them. I use the smaller bits as a good topper.

I buy about 4 of these a month, I opened the last bag in the cupboard and the recipe is different. The fish has skin on it...which is fine for most dogs, but I buy these for my cats. The pieces were skinny and really hard, difficult to break, and they had skin. My cats prefer the dog version, beause the pieces are larger, but these are just awful. The skin is not edible for cats. It has to be peeled off or it gets caught in their teeth and worse, stuck in their throats. Yes, I know from experience, and its horrible. I won't buy these again.

I bought these for a friend's dog who is a frequent visitor, and one who I 'borrow' sometimes to take along on my walks. He has severe food sensitivities, so options are few. He LOVES these treats! When we go to the leash-free, he knows I have them in my pocket and frequently comes back to me and sniffs my pocket, signalling he wants a treat. He doesn't have any adverse reactions which tells me they are good quality. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating is that at the bottom of the bag there is always lots of powder / flakes and it's hard to give it to him without making a mess.

These PureBites treats are probably the best thing you can buy for your dog in terms of treats. My dog absolutely LOVES every PureBites product I have bought for him (we have now tried them all!). He has been enrolled in obedience training since he was 9 weeks old and I have been using these treats since he was about 4 months old; we are never going back to generic dog treats! Here are my top pros for this product:1. One Ingredient! You literally cannot do better than this, especially if your dog has any kind of food intolerance or allergies.2. The Ocean Whitefish are quite smelly, but I would consider this a plus since my dog is more enticed with smelly treats.3. They are excellent for obedience and agility training because they are easy to handle, being freeze-dried, and are also low in calories. Treat away!4. They have never caused my dog stomach upset or diarrhea, while other more generic treats have.5. They are sourced in the USA6. High protein content, low to zero carbs and no added sugarOverall, this brand is my absolute favorite to feed my dog. He is now getting into advanced obedience training and good treats are an absolute necessity for positive reinforcement. I would recommend these to anyone who loves their dog.

For the price I paid for these treats, it was an exceptional value. These literally are pure whitefish, just reduced to waterless cubes. Our dogs love them, but they of course smell horrible.When ordering, keep in mind the cost of fish in general and figure out a cost per ounce that you're happy with paying -- the MSRP this shows is ridiculous.But just basing my review on the quality and how accurate the description was, it's great. Only negative is that there ends up being a LOT of dust and broken pieces in the bag -- I'd say less than a quarter of each bag is actually the full-size cubes they were intended to be.

I have all the PureBites treat varieties as they are sooo healthy and my Havanese LOVES them.As soon as I opened the bag of whitefish, which by the way is really expensive, the smell overtook my office.I took them home because I just could not subject my co workers to this stench.At home, I gave some to my pup, and then my whole apartment smelled like major fish! I had to open terrace doors and windows to air out the smell.So, now, I have a dilemma- should I only feed them to my pup outside during walks, but then, on the other hand he loves them. Ideas?

My wife and I recently decided to get rid of Chinese made food products for our pets. This was not as simple as we thought, but we found a great solution for everyday treats with these PureBites. One of our cats who rarely comes down stairs comes running as soon as I open the package (the smell is fairly strong but that seems to be a plus with the animals). Our dogs love em too. They are also low calorie, so even if you give several of them a day it wont effect their main diet.For anyone interested we switched to for the dogs and for the cats. Going to USA/Canadian based products is more expensive, but worth it to us.

My cat loves this so much that she'll eat ANYTHING I sprinkle it on, and often won't eat something until I put some on the top (I usually add a little extra water to moisten the dry fish.) She was going thru the tiny packets for cats so fast that I bought a 7 oz. bag of the dog treats, put a bunch in the blender, blended them into powder and small pieces, and put them in a jar with a small scoop. It's much more economical than buying the 0.38 oz. cat packets, as she insists on this several times a day. It stinks, but she loves it.
