While it can control e-book page turning and a few other functions, I mainly bought it for taking pictures with my Android phone. It allows you to take photos, zoom in and out, and switch to video on an Android phone, all without the awkwardness of holding the phone at odd angles or dealing with bulky selfie sticks. It fits in the hand comfortably and is easy to carry anywhere.Pros:• Compact and Portable: Much smaller and easier to carry than a selfie stick, making it perfect for travel or daily use.• Multiple Functions: Allows photo capture, zoom control, and video switching on Android phones.• Convenient for Solo Photography: Helps take steady, well-framed shots without needing someone else to hold the phone.• Comfortable Fit: Sits easily on your finger and feels lightweight during use.Cons:• Orientation Sensitivity: The top of the ring looks the same no matter how you put it on, so you need to pay attention to ensure the side buttons are correctly aligned for your hand.• No Auto Power-Off: Remember to turn it off manually after use to preserve battery life.My Use Case:Sometimes I just can’t get the picture I want while holding the phone, or I can’t reach the shutter button without messing up the framing. This Ring remote works perfectly with my iPhone. Setup took just a few minutes, and the connection has been solid ever since. This item is useless to me, but i was hoping for more than the description promised. So i am giving it four stars because i think it is missing some fundamental feature to make it a five star product.Last year i bought a smart phone camera grip to easier use my Samsung Phone as a camera and to mount it on a tripod - and to make fotos from afar with its removable BT shutter button (B08T5VZ6CZ $17).So when i ordered this product through vine, i was curious what more i could do with it than with that grip and "single button" remote. Sure, i can use it as a shutter, but i still need to buy some grip, unless you want a selfie-stick of course. So that solution would be more expensive than the grip i already have.So, for me the question was: What else could i do with the three buttons of this product beside using it as a shutter button. And unfortunately, i didn't find any use that i need. This described tictoc and ebook stuff, i tried, i don't need it.For example, I would love for my podcast and music player apps on my phone, that the three buttons are play/pause and audio level. So i can use my phone more easily at home. Put it somewhere while i am doing chores and be able to tune how loud it is and stop/play it.But that is not possible - or i am too stupid to figure out how. I guess if you had some hacking experience in Android maybe you could do it. But for a normal user, this device would be a lot more useful if it came with an app in which you could configure what each button does in a particular app. And i think there are some apps like this, but right now i am too lazy to try experimenting with them for this product - that should rather come with the product itself.If you want a selfie stick, or if any of the other three-button use-cases that this product works for are useful to you, or if you want to figure out how to hack ios/android to make it work - then the product can easily be 5 stars for you. The hardware is certainly very nice and the battery rechargeable, so it can easily be worth its price if the software use-cases work for you.
