Depending on your application, the air side dissipation can't keep up with the water side. Make sure you're aware of how Peltier devices work and the impact of thermal impedance and mass. My application was a water chiller, but effectively the thermal mass of the water was too high for the little heataink so it just turned into a space heater. It might work better as an air chiller.

This works, as in all components do what the should. However, despite 4 peltiers, the design cannot produce the cooling that it should be able to. I was unable to cool a well insulated 2 cubic foot area any lower than 56 degrees F despite keeping the hot side water cooled to 85 degrees F. Ambient temp was 72 degrees F. For context, I was able to achieve 62 degrees with a single peltier with similar setup. Was hoping this being premade would solve my problem, but no such luck.

This cooling system produces too much heat, and the cooling fans are very weak. 2 of the fans don't work out of the box. I replaced with stronger fans but still not sufficient. It raises the temperature of the liquid that it supposes to cool about 5F.

The water interfaces of the radiator are so gentle so it was broken easily. Ok, I made thread inside the holes. After the water commutation it became leaking in welding or pressing joints. Ok, I fixed the leaks. But then when all the commutation was done it appeared to heat instead of cool. I changed the polarity but it is not cooling efficiently. Highly not recommend

It says it’s a “Peltier Module Refrigerator Cooling System DIY Thermoelectric Cooler Refrigeration Air Cooling Device 4-Chip TEC1-12706 12V Peltier Cooler Semiconductor Water Chiller TEC” yet it isn’t. It’s a freakin heater. It doesn’t chill anything whatsoever. Waste of money. Be sure to actually scroll through all the pictures and actually read what it’s saying.

Needs a bigger heat sink on the cooling side also the fans don't move very much air. Good for maybe a small fridge project but that's it.

420, Hydro growers hereI have a 1xpeltier chip module going right now to chil my 85L of hydro water down to 16C.Let me tell you, these peltiers really do cool water down, but it's better to have it on a closed loop system and going through a wort chiller suspended in your resevoir. This way the heat reansfer is radiant instead of just dumping the chilled water back in to the warmer water.I ordered this unit 5 days ago and it arrived. It looks really really well made, the ONLY complaint i have anout it would be that the FANS on the heatsink look to be rather UNDERPOWERED.I will have to try it out and see for sure, but thats just based on speculation alone so who knows.

12vdc at 24A is a very difficult setup. To reach near 24Amps you will need a power supply that let you increase voltage and current from 12vdc 17A to 15vdc 24A. On the other hand, you can do this trick... In case you don't have a fancy power supply , try setting the peltiers in series " not parallel".. what you achieve by connecting in series is less current, less stress on your power supply. But keep in mind the peltiers will not run at full capacity but they will cool the heatsick just fine. The most difficult about this unit is finding an insulated box that fit the frame of the heatsink. Work best if you have a water pc cooling system radiator and pump and add antifreeze instead of just water. I am modifying the heatsink so it works in conjunction with a water block to chill water. My goal is to make a hybrid cooling air system - one that cools air using cold water. Can be easily connected to a 10A solar panel using a voltage regulator or a 12vdc 25A RC Motor Speed controller so you don't burn the peltier from Open Current from the solar cell.

Solid build quality. Runs without too much noise. This item is set up by default to cool the heatsink and use the water circulation to dissipate the heat from the hot side of the peltier chip. The heatsink literally had ice on it and the air was noticeably cooler than ambient. I switched the polarity and cooled the water instead. Unfortunately the heatsink and fans are not sufficient to dissipate the heat generated. This item could not even dissipate the heat from the very small submersible pump I was using for the test. I highly suggest not trying to cool water with this item. Better cooling was achieved by turning off the pump and literally letting the water cool to ambient temps. I am going to run another test using just 1 chip and see if that gives better results.Update:Even using just 1 chip produces an insurmountable amout of heat for this heatsink. This will not work for water cooling.

I like this unit. I didn't know that it used the water side to dissipate heat until after I ordered it, my fault for not reading the reviews. I had hoped to cool the water and run it through tubes in a vest to help keep me cool on the motorcycle. It will chill the water briefly, but the aluminum radiator is insufficient to dissipate the heat and the water warms after a short time. It does a good job when run as intended to cool air if you have a radiator to cool the water. It is well built.I have ordered a 160 x 40 liquid radiator block with 4 TEC1-12706 units on it, just like this one, and another liquid radiator block for the heat dissipation using a 240mm (2 fan) PC cooling radiator to cool the liquid. Hopefully that will work for my vest. I will use this one to cool my worm farm or something.
