This is my 4th sword from MURASAME. This was the first however that was not sharp on delivery.Everything else about is particular item is perfect, just like my other 3. After hours of testing, the saya fits perfect with no rattle. Tsuba, fittings, and tsuka & ito look and feel great. I just wish it were as sharp as the other MURASAME swords I own.

Edge came pretty dull; won’t slice paper. There are very small rolls/burs the whole length of the edge on both sides. Thinking of not asking for an exchange because everything else is great! Amazingly straight and impressive geometry for the price, zero saya rattle and nice snug fit, the Ito is neat and tight along with the tsuba and fittings, and the materials appear to be legit if not much higher quality imitations. My only other complaint would be the polish; the hamon is a little too faint just about invisible on the kissaki.

This is my second sword purchased thru Murasame. These guys make real handmade quality katana. It was sharp as a razor and shiny as a mirror. I could not be more happy with this purchase. Keep it up Murasame.

Everything fits as it aught; the ito is tight-ish, blade to saya is just tight enough, hopefully it won't get too much worn or it'll be shim-time. The finish on the saya is very acceptible, the sageo is tight-ish. Blade is as sharp as I could ask for, just right for Zombies (capitalized?) or tatami monsters! Delicious hamon, nicely fit and formed habaki, no rattling. 4 ghosts, excellently rendered and gilt, peeking out at you from different places. The 'back' of the tsuba is concave (hand loving) with some very unobtrusive decorative 'what is it?' stamping. ;)I'd say that I can't imagine needing or looking for another waki! Thanks

Blade is razor sharp, and the T10 steel is incredibly strong and holds a good edge. Shipping is very fast considering it comes from China. I had a small problem with the saya and the seller took care of me. In the case of Murasame the seller is the sword maker, they are not simply a reseller, so contact them if you need anything because they are very knowledgeable and responsive. Glad I went with Murasame.

I bought this sword 2 months ago and since then I have unsheathed it several times to swing it a couple of times. I didn’t cut anything with it except air. Today I took it out again and found that the tip of the sword handle (Tsuka-gashira) had come off. The return period has recently expired. I am not sure how could I utilize this “sword” now. For cheese slicing?I wouldn't say that the price of the sword is very low. Therefore, the quality does not match the price.

100% recomendado.

The sword had a couple issues when i received it,but im still it giving 5 stars because the issues were resolved. The tsuba was chipped and ito was loose. I asked for a custom L6 unokubi zukuri katana to match ,not only was it better than perfect, but I received new fittings for the wakizashi, and a display box. Im flattered that Murasame has since added my custom L6 unokubi zukuri to their store. You can now buy both if you like a decent daisho (katana & wakizashi). I will have review on my YouTube channel “Samurai Byrd”. Thank you Murasame Sword

The sword is nice and looks good but the saya (scabbard) is trash. When inserting the sword into the saya it often gets stuck and I have to ease it out and reinsert the blade. Even worse, every time I remove the sword from the saya, there are small pieces of wood on the blade. (see picture) The sword came with a lot of oil on the blade and I think the oil saturated the saya and made the wood inside come apart easily. Also, the blade is probably cutting pieces of wood off since it gets stuck on the way in.I do know the blade gets stuck when inserting it into the saya and the blade has pieces of wood on it when I remove it from the saya.I contacted the company but they did not respond. Disappointed.
