This harp has a beautiful solid wood excellent quality body Traditional style, When you are not playing you can hang it up as a piece of art; it’s that pretty.

Last week I received a different brand of 16-note lyre harp and I've been struggling to tune it ever since. Doing battle every day, with little time left for playing. Maybe I got a dud, who knows?But today I received this 7-string deer head and what a difference! The tuning wrench and string pegs work much better together to get the string tuned quickly. Yes, after a while they stretch as all new strings do. But it doesn't take long to bring them up again. And then, I get to fiddle around and 'play'. And, what fun : )I'm a piano player who also dabbles with guitar and am learning ukulele. While laid up with a broken leg and knee, I wanted something easy and relaxing to amuse myself with, in between practising on the other instruments. This is the perfect instrument! I can't go wrong here, lol.The sound is like bells; the pentatonic scale is pleasing; and it's easy to make up little 'songs.' I discovered that I could amplify the sound by resting the lyre harp on the box it came in. A little science experiment and some experience for me, and what about for children just getting interested in playing music and learning how stringed instruments work?It comes very well packaged, with a padded soft case, extra strings, tuning wrench, cleaning cloth, pick, and an instruction pamphlet. (I know there is more detailed information available on YouTube, but it's a good start.)The instrument is lovely, smooth to the touch and easy on the eye. If I had young grandchildren, I would be be buying more of these, especially since this kit cost me less than $50 Canadian.I am totally delighted and impressed!

We are a Christian famley and I always read about 10 stringed instruments in the Bible, so I decided for my birthday I would buy one. I am so delighted to learn! All the accessories were an absolute bonus! Nice woodwork and very simple. It did need tuning! :) I am thinking of purchasing more for friends and famley :) P.s. definitely needs to get tuned when you get it :) A simple app is good, or buy a tuner with this!

When this lyre arrived I was surprised by how nice it was and by the strings tone, but quickly had my fears realized when a string broke and trying to string a new one became...difficult. The plate covering the grommet holes was too tight for the string to thread through and attempting to remove the grommet was impossible. Perhaps this will look good on the mantle, but I wouldn't try using it as an instrument. I will be returning this and getting something else.

Beautiful design and color. Has beautiful tone too. Just wish the strings were color coated like a regular harp. All in all I’m very happy with my little harp lyer.

The 7 string lyre is great for a beginner. Some of the songs in the booklet are hard to follow, but there are many resources online for learning.

When I got this, i was worried because the case it came with was not in the best condition, but I didn't care. this harp is more beautiful than I could have imagined.The blue color is different than in the picture but in a good way.It's a greenish blue.One thing that other buyers may want to know is that the notes were written on top of each string, something they didn't show in the picture.

An absolutely beautiful instrument, with lovely peaceful tones! I read about it from a teacher who uses the lyre to promote harmony and clarity of thought for her children in the Waldorf school (one of the most respected schools for nurturing character development and intellectual ability). Although this is not the most expensive one you can buy, it is lovely and sounds great, especially for the price. I only had to re-adjust the tuning the first few times I played it and now it holds its key nicely! And it does have a nice vibration to soothe the soul of an agitated child!

I absolutely love this harp. It’s beautifully made, light, but a solid instrument. Easy to tune and learn to play. I don’t play a musical instrument and this was easy to learn.
