I removed all 4 of the old units and INSTALLED the 4 new ones in a little under 2 hours. The new units are very bright and were easy to install because the jumper wires sent in the kit made the job easy. I had one face mask that busted when I was trying to remove one of the side Seems to be a very good unit.

Decent design that can be changed to mount flush against a wall (single sided), hang edge on to the wall (double sided) or hang free from the ceiling (double sided) with everything included that you need to chose any setup. The unit is all plastic, a little flimsy but sufficient to do the job. I bought this to replace my 30 year old units that have the old incandescent lights that burn out every few months and the big NiCad battery packs that only last 2-3 years before they go bad. I bought this particular unit because it was inexpensive and while the product description was vague when it came to the battery back up information, one of the reviews mentioned (incorrectly) using AA batteries as the back up power source. I thought that was a good, cheap & easy solution for the LED light back up, but when I got the unit, I tore it down to the bare frame (very easy btw) to find a small NiCad battery (a single 1.2v 700 mah cell) with an unplugged (would be on and running in the box if it wasn't) plug on the end that inserts in to the electronic board. This unit would be so much better if they put in an external door for a single AA alkaline battery. Instead, you have to remove the whole face plate - make sure you mount the unit so that you have access to this side or you will have to un-mount it from the wall later to change the battery.

I've been helping my church bring some deficiencies in exiting the bldg. up to par, so, I have been using my Amazon account to make the purchases of the lighting needed for this purpose. Another church in our area has been providing the labor for the installation of all the lighting purchases I have been making. So grateful to be able to get good prices and delivery to house. Saves my energy for work.

From the item description - "Ceiling/back/side mountable(easy snap-fit canopy included)". My unit did NOT include the canopy for ceiling mounting, which is what i needed to install this in an acoustical ceiling. My project is slated for completion this weekend and this was the last component needed, now I've got to try and source a new item and be able to get it in time to install this weekend. The price of the unit itself is great, but thats besides the point if the description is misleading and I cant use it...Edit - After removing the front cover of the sign, i found the ceiling canopy inside of the unit. worked perfectly.

similar product (but without battery backup) costs more than 2x more at local big box hardware. These signs are pretty easy to install both wall and ceiling mounted (though you may have to drill your own holes in the plastic for wall mount depending on the mounting surface). I've installed 7 of these signs. The only one that had problems was quickly replaced by the seller. And I spent the same per sign as the cost of a few changes of those ridiculous incandescent bulbs in the old signs. Great value.

This exit sign works surprisingly well. It is fairly easy to install, the only issue is the openings to feed the wires through are very small so it can get a little difficult. The sign is very bright and can be seen from a good distance. It definitely gets your attention. I would say its surprisingly bright. Its by far the least expensive exit sign available that will satisfy the fire marshal. Its LED so you will never have to worry about replacing bulbs again. The backup battery is a single rechargeable AA battery that is 700 mAh. It's made in China.

I really like these exit lights. They are dead simple to install, have plenty of mounting options and most importantly, can cut your electric expense and light bulb replacement costs remarkably! A couple of thousand hours sounds great until you figure that at 24 hours per day you're replacing light bulbs every couple of months. And they are expensive specialty bulbs, too. These are much cheaper to run and maintain, plus are very attractive and dependable.I DON'T like Amazon's "hide the cheese" method of adjusting prices up and down randomly, sometimes several times per day. There's one flat screen TV that goes up and down $200 during the course of the day! That is ridiculous and reflects disrespect of your customers. If you paid a certain amount, that amount does not fluctuate from day to day or several times within the same day. A fair profit is a fair profit and THAT doesn't fluctuate either. So what's with the shell game? It only makes us buy software to monitor the monkey business so we can buy when prices are lowest. So we buy the lowest price anyway, just not when we want to buy. JUST SET THE PRICE THE LOWEST YOU THINK YOU CAN AND SELL THE STUFF! You're just irritating customers. Shame on you Amazon!
