These were less expensive than replacing the batteries on the originals plus they use 1/10 the power. Work fine and look good.

They work perfect. Price point is very good. LED lights load is low and they run longer

Installed easily to meet code after current ones had their battery die. These were less than the batteries alone for the ones I had up. These use LED lighting and less energy and thus, use a smaller battery pack.

Seems fine, hopefully the batteries will last a couple more inspections and they are readily available and easy to replace when the time comes.

I was replacing an old emergency exit sign that was falling apart. This new unit was easy to install. It did require I use my own drill for for running the conduit into the back, but there are a variety of ways to mount it.I like that it uses a NiMH battery pack for the backup power. My previous sign required a massive battery that was very expensive. I was able to buy this replacement sign cheaper than replacing the battery in the old one.The lights are adjustable. They swivel and pivot easily so you can direct the beams in almost any direction. There is a small connection for the battery that needs to be connected before you backup battery will work, so don’t forget to connect it. It’s easier to do it before the unit is installed, but not a big deal either way.

I liked the unit as a whole. It has wiring for both the USA ( 110 volts) and Europe( 220 volts. In the USA the black wire and white wire is all you need, the other wire is for Europe so it just is not used. I wished the directions was that simple but itis not. There are also parts included if you want to hang it from a ceiling so it can be seen from either side. If you just want to put it on a wall over the exit door then all of that stuff is also extra and not needed. Easy, right? It would be if it was explained!!

As an electrician, I want to install the lights and keep moving. 3 of 4 units, the emergency lights stayed on when power was applied. Initially, I though it was an installation error. But I double checked my work. Installed a few more and found 1 of 4 that worked.Ok, I discovered the issue. And it was an installation error. The lights have a back and front cover that snaps in place. I was wall mounting the fixtures so I just took off the back cover. The problem is there are multiple places to plug in the battery. But the right place is labeled BAT and you can't really access that plug very well if you just have the back cover off. And it is difficult the see the labeling. So take the front cover off and be sure to plug the battery into the terminal labeled BAT.

I am a professional electrician. Modern building codes require exit doors to have external remote lights mounted above the door. For some reason these fixtures are hard to find and expensive when you do find them. From reading the reviews I was almost certain that these would support remote led lights. After installing them I can say for certain that it works! On the circuit board you need to make sure you are plugging the battery into the correct terminal. The side mounted lights should already be plugged in. The remaining 2 plugs can be used for remote heads labeled r1 and r2.In order to use the remote feature you need to buy separate heads and a pack of JST XH 2.5 2pin female plug pigtails. You will also need some low voltage cord like 18/2 cl3.Overall it was worth the effort as these are much cheaper than other remote capable fixtures.
