Our Armadillidium peraccae isopods are sold in assorted sizes ranging from established young juveniles to adults. Adults can reach lengths of up to 1". This bumpy species of isopod originates from Mediterranean areas, specifically Greece. They are typically gray to light brown and have a distinct striped pattern, bumpy carapace, and serrated sides. They are moderate breeders and can be very prolific under the proper conditions. This species prefers to stay mostly hidden throughout the day, clinging to the undersides of debris and burrowing into the soil, but they do make an occasional appearance. We prefer a strong moisture gradient for this species, ranging from very damp on one end of their enclosure to bone-dry on the other. As with all of our insects, live arrival is guaranteed.
