Purchased 2 and love them so much! Would totally recommend these as a gift or for personal use. They've lasted for a few years now and are still as nice as when I got them!

First lava lamp was undeliverable and so ordered another one which arrived partially frozen and then liquid was really cloudy. Should have returned but was advised to allow to cycle and would clear up. After 3 months it has not. Would not order this item online as delivery conditions will affect the lava lamp long term. Better off to buy this from a store as you will know condition of item before purchasing.

This is the worst Lava Lamp product on Amazon! The "blue" liquid is so cloudy you can't see the motion of the yellow wax. I received one that was cloudy and had wax stuck to the inside of the glass. This is a sign of a defective or poorly manufactured product. I returned the bad lamp and ordered a replacement. It came in and was even worse than the first. The first one I could see the yellow wax, but it was really cloudy and you had to get up close to see any activity. This one is way worse than the first and completely defeats the purpose of a Lava Lamp. They are supposed to be attractive colored water with a different color of wax that, when heated up morphs and produces wax balls, strings, and snakes of wax that gives off a cool glow and lots of activity. This one does none of that. It is like buying a glass globe of green liquid that has no motion activity. I contacted the seller when I received the first one and they would not take responsibility for the bad product. They wanted me to try to fix the cloudiness by cycling it off and on over several days or even weeks. This process does not clear up a cloudy lamp. There is no fix for getting a cloudy lamp other then to return it for a different one, but with this seller, the entire batch of their product appears to be bad so don't waste your time or money with this merchant. There are other sellers on Amazon that sell quality Lava Lamps that are not cloudy. I contacted the seller after getting the second defective one and they won't even reply. Normally a merchant will take care of a customer if they get a defective product, but not this one. Asking a customer to attempt to "fix" their bad product is the opposite of good customer service. When wax sticks to the inside of the glass globe of a Lava Lamp, it means the mixture of the contents inside the lamp were not properly balanced. It doesn't have enough surfactant to keep the wax from sticking to the glass and form better wax balls. There is no amount of cycling that will fix this issue. It must be opened and the contents removed and refilled with the proper amounts of surfactant and the blue liquid must be replaced. Since 2 from the same seller are bad, that would indicate that the entire batch of this color combination is likely bad. They should destroy these and order a new batch and not continue to sell these defective lamps. You can get non-cloudy Lava Lamps at Spencer Gifts both online and in stores. Don't waste your hard earned money on this product until the merchant can verify that the bad batch had been replaced with clear lamps. Sorry, but this is a Must Avoid!

My teen loves her new lava lamp! At first I was a bit concerned because it didn't seem to be working correctly but thanks to the many reviews here we realized that we just had to give it time. We made sure it was set up correctly. The first day it took 8 hours to warm up and it didn't really work right. You can see in the pictures that it was just making one long blob instead of the smaller ones like it normally would. Day 2 it took 6 hours to warm up and was making the smaller blobs. By day 3 it warmed up within 2 hours of being plugged in and was working like a charm. Just give it time and you wont be disappointed! Its very mezmorizing!

Ignore the negative reviews. Or I just got lucky with this specific one. Understand these take awhile/at least 3hrs to start flowing on initial use AND can arrive a bit "cloudy" due to transport and storage etc. (I ordered a 52oz purple liquid with yellow wax lamp shortly after this blue liquid 1 and that arrived a lot more cloudy/the purple 1) but this one did not have really any issues. Let the lamp/globe come to room temperature before turning it on too if it was outside in the cold or heat for a little bit let it get to room temp and keep them away from air vents or heat/air sources like an AC unit or heater etc. My base was in great shape, no dents, good bulb, and the liquid was clear after a couple cycles. If it is a little bit cloudy don't freak out! This 1 was slightly cloudy but not that bad and cleared up right away after only a couple cycles. Try the cycling method and yea just give it at least a week or 2 of daily use, at least 1x cycle per day for a couple weeks and your cloudy issue should disappear! If it doesn't get any better/clearer after 2-3 weeks then I would return it for a new one or a refund because some of these can be shaken up so bad during delivery it can be unrepairable. Or they might have been stored too long in extreme temps etc. You'll know after a week or 2 if it's getting any better/clearer or not but it should the more you cycle it! OVERALL THIS ONE IS WORKING GREAT! FLOWS NICELY AND IS CLEAR MOST IMPORTANTLY! LOOKS GREAT! You see a lot of negative reviews on here and I don't doubt those people might have got a bad defected or improperly handled item but give it some time and they will work and look great! So nostalgic, takes me back! Great for kids or adults!
