This air pump has no power of it's own, it must be hooked up to a 5V battery via a USB-C connection. You can use your smart phone to run this (tested to see if it worked and it did) although I did not attempt to do so for this review. It has no on/off switch, just a little switch for controlling the speed of the fan. Plus it in and it starts pumping away. This little air pump is amazingly useful. It blew up my Big Agnes Double Z air mattress in under 3 minutes at the high setting. It is quite small. The smallest I've seen on the market. Literally fits in the palm of my hand. Many on the market have their own internal batteries. My battery pack was at 85% charged when I started the pump and 85% once a single mattress was fully pumped. I do not have any large 2 person mattresses so could not comment on those. It is important to note, this pump only fills the mattress to 95% full. You have to finish off the filling with 2 or 3 breaths of you own. This was the case the first time I used it, on a second try it took 4 total to top it off.The little pump makes a decent whirring sound as the fan is running. It's a little quieter on the lower setting but you definitely hear it's running. It was very easy to use the pump once you figured out which attachment to use. The pump comes with six attachments. The attachments are made for different brands of air mattresses on the market. My issues with this fan is the attachments and the price. Each attachment has to be stretched over the pump in order to get it to fit snugly. This took some getting used to, and was by far the most difficult part of using this pump. The instructions that come in the package state which connector goes with certain brands. My Big Agnes didn't use the connector it was supposed to. Finding the right adapter was trial and error. I think it would be better if these connectors screwed on to the pump instead of stretch and snap. At this price point, it seems like this may be a little over priced compared to other options on the market especially since it doesn't contain it's own battery,

I understand the idea of this, and it's very clever, the ultimate lightest pump. It even works if a bit fidgety, quality is meh, most of it seems to be the equivalent of 3d printing. But as soon as you add a USB power supply, WHICH YOU HAVE TO DO TO MAKE IT FUNCTION, the weight is less wonderful. A purpose-designed pump with a battery can be smaller and lighter because the battery is tuned for that fan, and is easier to use because you're not balancing a separate battery with the fan, and in many instances is MUCH cheaper. Something like the rooscamp is just better for regular use

When I first realized the adapters are 3d printed, I though,"oh no, it'll split." However it's flexible PLA, and so far no matter how much stretched/pushed/rotated the adapters, they have not fell apart. I'm very surprised how strong the printed parts are. Excellent. The mouting adapters was major pain, except one cylinderical one without +. I can place my finger inside and easily stretch out the adapter over the fan for that one. For rest, however, I had real hard time no matter how I rotate them, squeeze them, push them, etc., I could not get my finger inside to stretch out. I end up using a pencil like stick to stretch mount the adapter. Not easy as Amazon site video shows. The fan has 2 settings that worked.I connected USB C cable to my phone charger, and it worked fine - I tried blowing up camping air pillow.I think it's kind of missleading, though, to display "500 uses on 10,000mha battery" for not everyone has 10,000mha portable battery. For example my portable battery charger has 2,400mha, but I also have 50kwh camping battery generator that provide USB C power for probably unlimited number of inflations. Well maybe it was for an example. It's very compact and portable, and included cardboard case is nice for travel - I found easy to stack up adapter on the cap, put case over it and flip over to insert the fan. Otherwise, if you drop adapter into the case, it may end up lying side, and having all the case inside impossible. You'll need to add your power souce when considering carrying this fan.Dpends on you carrying battery pack all the time (for whatever reason, like charging phone) or not, it adds to volume and weight to your bag. I usually don't carry any battery pack when I'm hiking/backpacking, but can see carrying flat, thin, light 2,400mah battery pack I have.My Flex##### fan has built in bettery, and it's smaller than this fan's case, and it's about $10 cheaper. With $45 price tag, I think it's bit over priced when you need to consider buying a battery pack, if you don't have one with you. I'm thinking $15 - $20 is resonable price, unless they pack small battery on the unit if they are going to sell at $45.This item is great idea and may work for many people, but for people go camping a lot, even backpacking, we are bound to have one small air pump in our bag that's around the same price or cheaper with built in rechargeable battery.
