I love Jorgensen stuff and these are good clamps, but there is a slight issue with them in some circumstances. I have used these for two purposes so far - as a hold-down for my track saw track, and to clamp pieces to the work surface. The ratcheting motion works really well when you have enough clearance to open it all the way up before ratcheting down. Where I'm holding the 1x2 with the clamp, it's solid and the padded end prevents marring the workpiece. However, for holding the track in place, at least in my use case, I can't get enough clearance to open up the ratchet handle before tightening down. This will cause the clamp to slip if there isn't enough pressure. It may be my use case, but a squeeze clamp won't have this issue, and I have track clamps that use a squeeze trigger (instead of ratchet) that work just fine. These are also a little more awkward to use one-handed because of this. It is still a very well-made clamp, like all Jorgensen stuff. Solidly built and it doesn't wiggle at all when locked down. But this doesn't perform in all circumstances the same as other clamps. I rarely need this much clamping force to hold a workpiece down, so I'm not sure these really solve a problem.

These are advertised as working with Makita guide rails and I’m thrilled to report they do work just fine. The clamps that came with my Makita track saw worked fine, but were a little clumsy to use. I’ve grown accustomed to using squeeze-type clamps of all kinds over the years, so the original Makita twist-style just seemed outdated and took longer to use.Unhappy with the Makita clamps, I tried another popular brand-name clamp that used the more updated squeeze-style clamping mechanism. While I’ve been using that clamp most often and it is a definite improvement over the Makita, it still left me wanting something better.Along came these innovative Jorgenson ratcheting clamps and I knew I just had to have them. They took a little getting used to, but I can tell already these will be my go-to clamps from now on.The end of the clamp that slides into the guide rails is a bit shorter than my original Makita clamps as well as the other black and yellow brand clamps that I have, but I haven’t noticed any negative side effects from them being shorter yet.The price on these is very attractive for such an innovative product from a trusted name like Jorgenson.

These clamps work great in aluminum tracks, but are too wide to fit in my DeWalt track saw tracks. That's not the fault of these clamps, rather it's because Dewalt has a narrower than standard opening. I assume that Festool, Makita, and tracks from all the other track saw manufacturers should work just fine! These clamp are well built, with typical Jorgensen quality. They're well packaged and arrived undamaged. They should last for years in normal use.No complaints...the strange size of my DeWalt track not withstanding.

These are very well designed solid quick release ratcheting clamps. Even though they are part plastic, they are very strong with lots of clamping pressure. The clamping pressure is rated at 400 lbs. Fully expanded, they are 7 inch capacity. The bar slides easily when you pull or push it yet it slides around less as you handle the clamp than most bar clamps. The side with the rubber pad moves a little so that you can clamp things that aren't quite parallel. They are easy to use, easier than a set I have by another maker. And they have a nice finish with no sharp edges. The bar is thin enough that I can get these into the 5/8 inch dog holes of my bench.
