Bought printer Feb 1st. 2022. By Mar 17th the printer head went bad. Purchased new printer head from Wally World- $205 - company was kind enough to cover $100 bucks of that purchase. Now on 1 May 2022 the printer touch screen is scrambled and un-usable. Now it is beyond the return. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER! I'm telling you . . . I spent hours and hours on line trying to diagnose and fix this thing between youT videos, on-line forums, etc. Still not working. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER

I have my OfficeJet Pro 8715 for a while. It was working find most of the time. For a period time, it always printing the first page blurry. I have to resend the job and it would be okay. After about a year, it self corrected. Maybe because of firmware update. I was about to switch another printer because the print cartridge is outrageously expensive. I bought a two pack HP 952XL print cartridge from Costco about a year ago. Last week, the first cartridge was out in the middle of my print job. So installed the second on from the package. Then I was keep getting " Older Generation Cartridge" error message as in the uploaded photo. I tried everything and google it. But can't find a solution. HP Support is non-existent. I can't find any help on this. I am so frustrater that how HP is trying to squeeze any money out of their customers including making brand new supported ink cartridge obsolete for the same printer. DON'T BUY HP PRINTER.

it showed up in a 3rd party box, wrapped in bubble wrap and masking tape. I expected new as that is what I bought.be careful.

If you happen to have this printer, know these things:1. Prints very well with 3rd party ink which costs 1/4 the HP cartridge price.2. HP sends firmware updates to the printer to block 3rd party ink cartridges.3. You can disable firmware updates on the printer - go to Settings -> Printer Maintenance -> Update the Printer -> Printer Update Options -> Do Not Check. Make sure to select NO to the follow-up question to disable checking.4. The 3rd party ink companies like ValueToner will send you replacement cartridges if you get screwed by an HP update. Just call their support line. There's always some answering available to answer during regular business hours.5. If you want an update, just call ValueToner first and check with them if the update will kill the ink cartridges. I would update the printer only if they tell me I can, or alternatively right before purchasing new ink cartridges.

HP recently updated its software so you will not be able to buy aftermarket ink which means you will need to buy the overpriced HP ink in order for the printer to work. just to give you an idea the ink HP sells is $99 vs the aftermarket ones are $25-30, selling this off today or donating since I am not an idiot to waste $100 dollars every month not today

Needed the same type printer replacement because of on-hand color cartridges that would need to be disposed. Printer operates great and the previously purchased cartridges works fine in the new printer. It arrived as scheduled and without any damage to the box.
