I ordered these because I want to be responsible and provide meaningful assistance in case a need arises... But, it's not easy with this product. The exit signs require some assembly by the consumer and seem to be poorly assembled in the first place at the factory.The first one I opened had no evident instructions and is very frustrating to disassemble without guidance. One side, the back plate, has two additional tabs that hold the frame to the backing plate and can only be removed from the inside after you remove the facing side (with the exit sign visible). Once I had it open, I confirmed that it does come with additional lights to help folks see to get out.The problem is that the main lighting is done with a row of LEDs on the bottom and there appears to be a point where a jumper wasn't installed to get the power to the far side emergency light. So, unless I go get some more wire and a pair of the two pin din connectors, I may never get that second emergency light to light up. I bet the Fire Marshal would have feelings about that, were I to try get approved for a occupancy number... not that I intend that.Inside the exit sign, once I got to the mounting solution, I finally found the instructions. And, these are not sufficient to really inform me as to the designer's intent re: that second emergency light. Maybe the second unit will be correctly assembled at the factory, so I can tell what it should look like.The emergency back-up battery was functional right out of the box and it came necessarily disconnected... So, I connected it to what looked like the obvious choice, and it did power up the LED's and one emergency light. Unfortunately, all the internal connectors are the same, so I could have it wired wrong... I hope that I can get the second emergency light sorted out and that I haven't just guessed wrong with the first one.I'm giving this two stars. I felt it would have been a good value for the listed price before I received these signs. After handling them, and all the difficulties not withstanding, I would have given these three stars even had they worked perfect right out of the box. The plastic housing feels flimsy and the design isn't what I would call elegant, it's just sufficient and not at all what I would expect of safety equipment. I feel safety equipment should be better than average. We expect it to save lives when everything else is going wrong, so it should be more robust than most other consumer items one might encounter in public. It should be functioning no matter what is happening around it... but I doubt this will.

Nice emergency exit combo signs. The signs come pretty much ready to install and it is very easy to install if you've ever done one exit sign they are pretty much all the same for installation. Sign has the all-important "test" button and the indicator light for the battery backup. Easily wall-mountable and also comes with bracket for ceiling mounting. Note the signs we received are not white, they are more of an ivory (off white/slightly tan)

This Exit light is in a class that features both a lit EXIT sign AND two adjustable LED headsIt has a built-in rechargeable battery backup and the battery is easily replaceable should it need to be changed years later.Key Point: The housing feels a bit cheap and brittle but once installed that fact is not readily noticeable.Pros:• Dual: exit sign + emergency lighting• Adjustable LED heads -- Bright!• Battery backup with replaceable rechargeable battery packCons:• Housing felt cheap but did not impact my use case.
