If using as a replacement for existing power supply make sure the hole is the same diameter as this new power supply.

This product works great! I wired it to an ignition switch power source so it wasn't always on. Fit perfectly into the stock cig lighter hole in the center console of my GMT800! Blue matches my blue LED interior illumination perfectly. Great way to upgrade your vehicle for USB instead of the old school cig lighters.Longevity.. unsure yet!

I’ve been using this for just over two years now with a 12v lawn mower battery and a small solar panel and it’s been great to keep my phone and other small things charged up while off grid.We have a camp that is off grid, we run a generator during the day to run power things like a water pump or tools. But at night we needed a way to charge things up. I bought this and a lawn mower battery to charge electronics over night. It’s a really cheap way to keep powered up while off grid.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needed it for something similar.

I've had this installed in my 2013 Ford Focus SE for 3 years. I left it installed when I traded the 2013 SE in for a 2017 Focus ST last week. I just bought another one to install in my new car but this review is about my first one. Zero issues in 3 years but I will say that I very rarely unplugged the usb cords during the whole 3 years. One port for my dash cam, one for my phone charger. As far as installation... if you don't know what you're doing, it could be a little difficult. I installed this to the left of my steering wheel, in some unused plastics that had plenty of room behind it. Drilling out the plastic took some time and some sanding/filing to get the hole to the right size but eventually I was able to get it to fit very snug.As far as wiring, I already knew which power source I wanted to tap into. My factory cigarette lighter outlet turned on as soon as the car was unlocked, and stayed on until 30 minutes after the car was off and locked. So I cut the wires on the unit and spliced in longer wires to tap into that power source. I then tucked and ziptied the wires out of the way and I was good to go. Never blew a fuse or anything, even with a dashcam and iPhone drawing power constantly at the same time.I ended up cutting the cap off too since I knew I'd almost never unplug the two cords.I'll be installing another in my 2017 Focus ST soon in the same place. I'll post a new review or edit this one a little ways down the road to report on how the new one is doing.

I got to the point of getting sick of having to carry bulky car chargers and needing more space for GPS to plug in since my vehicle is an old Acura Integra it's a little behind on technology. So I made it up to date. I had got an rectangular USB charger last time but didn't come with wiring wire or nothing. I like that this one did even has the mail and female connectors. I haven't installed this one yet need hole saw bit.But plan on buying least 3 more because I have 3 Integras. Hiding is on side of center console or by the emergency brake.Came with charge plug40" in of Red & Black positive and negative wire, with fused link, plus Male and Female wire ends, flat and round wire ends attached to wire.1 installed fuse1 spare fuse (F10AL250V)Dual USB inlets. Both 5V 2.1ACharger has thread on plastic nut to fasten with a rubber plug that's doubled as a washer on back.See photos attached, will update with Pictures installed.Could have gave ya say 5-6ft wire. For me 40" in is plenty. But depending on vehicle might need a little more in length.Definitely recommend. Will be getting more.TOOLS NEEDED:DRILLHole saw Bits or regular bits. 1/1/8"Extra Red, Black wire for + & -Wrench's or sockets for ground bolt.Wire cuttersWire ends or plugs.DIY INSTRUCTIONS: (1 of 7 Steps).1 step determine placement of charge Plug.2 Drill and push in Plug, thread but on back. Drill 1/1/8" Round hole, possibly use vehicle cigarette lighter location if you don't smoke.3 Put Red positive wire on charger +PUT Black negative wire on charger -4 Run the wiring under dash out of foot area and away from pedals.5 Find a 12V + Switched power source and hook up Red wire. Maybe change wire end to vehicle factory type fuse box plug.6 Take Black wire and hide as well look for fusebox mounting bolt or but and fasten Ground wire to it.7 Turn Ignition switch test for power and see if charger charges your devices and or powers them up.Make sure it's wired to switched power other wise may run vehicle battery dead.

I installed this socket in my car, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. Aside from the necessary tools to cut a hole in my car's plastic console, cut and strip wires, and check to make sure I had it wired correctly, I didn't really need anything but what came in the package (I did use two of my own crimp-on connectors to connect the wires from what had been my 12V "cigarette lighter" power socket to the new USB socket). The blue LED ring on the socket is handy for finding the ports in the dark; the fact that both ports are 2.1 amp ports means that it charges my smartphone quickly; the plastic nut allowed me to tighten the socket and make it nice and snug when I installed it; the rubber cover will probably be nice for covering the socket in case the blue glow becomes a nuisance or distraction at night when the socket isn't in use (and the rubber ring that attaches the cover to the socket doubles as a sort of rubber washer to make the whole assembly feel secure when it's installed and tightened up); if the cover isn't necessary for your application, you can pull it off or even cut it off with a utility blade after it's been installed.

Actually outputs 1.45 amps to my phone, according to a USB tester, but I think that is the phones limitation. On the plus side, outputs 5v even with a 24v input which is ideal. Wires were good too.
