4 stars - it's a nuce scratcher, a little on the flimsy side. The "wallpaper" on the side immediately separated from the body of the unit. We go through these horizontal scratchers like water, as both of my cats love to scratch! I keep this underneath the coffee table and it gets used daily. Price is a tad high at $22 / I usually pick these up at TJ Maxx or Marshall's for $12-14. Not sure why there is a dog on the side, but whatevs.

This had not been on the floor for more than 10 seconds before my cat was on it and sharpening his claws as if he didn't have another scratch pad (which he does -- he just likes new ones!). He now spends a lot of time just lying on it, as it is large enough to hold him comfortably; and he's a large cat (15 lbs of American Longhair). It's a little costly for what it is, but the cardboard has been holding up well, and if my cat is any judge, it's well worth it.
