Maybe, just maybe, if you have a way to hold the log very securely, and the log is very dry, and you have a powerful power drill (like 3/8ths or ½" bit size), you might make use of this "splitter". It is more likely that you will drive the product into the log until the drill spins out of your hands, and then you need more tools to extract the thing. The ad video makes it look like it's a wonder tool; it isn't!

It splits dry wood quickly, but wet wood not so great. It is effective.
