Absolutely looks like real wood, really nicely done very detailed finish. This was heavier than expected as it's magnesium oxide so feels like a solid ceramic piece nearly, which is both why the finish appears so high end in quality and of course also makes it fire and heat resistant. (Also easy to clean, dust and stay looking in fresh shape) So great confidence in the piece, and feels very solid, provided your wall can support the 40 lb weight!

We attached the wood piece to our wall into two studs and then the rest into the drywall anchors. The mantel does not sit flush to the wall and is drooping downward. This does not seem stable. The wooden part needs to be more substantial to prevent this from happening. We are very disappointed and now out a chunk of change for something we can’t use due to being concerned about safety.

It worked well for my design-on-a-dime fireplace. I used it as a floating hearth instead of a mantel. It will look great when I finish the project and put a rock wall around it. It was a little tricky for me to install straight, but then again, I didn't ask the hubby for help.

It came with an incredibly warped piece of wood for mounting, so I’m guessing it’s going to look crooked on the wall. Will report back when I get it on….

It matches my floors perfectly. Cannot wait to get this hung! It is a heavy piece. So studs Have to be there.Got it hung! Just hoping that wood piece as the anchor is strong enough in the studs.
