Installation Guide
1.Gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side 3-5 times and remove the orange protective plastic cap.
2.Insert the toner cartridge into the drum unit.(sold separately)
3.Install the complete unit into the printer and close the printer cover.
4.Press the start button.

I have been using this drum unit for about a month and so far it works great! Much cheaper than OEM and seems to do as good of a job. I recommend it.

OMG - This was the best deal ever! This drum would have cost me $70 if I got the Brother one. I got the compatible drum and compatible ink cartridge for around $40 I think? Can't remember. I didn't want to write a review until I tried it, and was frankly scared it wasn't going to be truly compatible. But it is perfect. It's legit. The packaging is very professional. If I didn't know it wasn't from Brother, I wouldn't know. Now for the drum - apparently you have to reset the counter. Very simple to do. Just google it depending on your printer. Mine was two quick easy steps to insert the drum, leaving the door open press the go button until all lights came on. Shut the door. Done. It is working great. My name is on this post - that means I am legitimately saying to you - trust these guys!

This drum unit works very well, and the savings over the original Brother product are substantial. So far, so good... so five stars. I'll update this review if anything unexpected occurs.UPDATE 28 JULY 2016: After about five months (and, perhaps about 200 to 300 pages of text output), this drum unit now produces pronounced fading along the left side of the page. Overall print quality also seems to have deteriorated, although text is still legible past the first inch or so inside the left edge. I swapped out the drum with a Brother fax machine I own which uses the same print engine and, predictably, the problem moved to the fax machine. Since I receive very few faxes, I'll continue to use it this way. I guess you get what you pay for. Star rating has been adjusted accordingly. I will not be buying this product again.

This the kind of product were the price is great ,but for bigginer, you might have a little hard time figuring out how to change the toner.overall this is a great bargin. This is my second time buying this product.

UPDATESorry. I was wrong about this product. My problem was actually with Brother. The printer kept flashing a message: that I needed a new drum. Soon afterwards, that I needed a cartridge, as well."Eventually," I learned that the printer was broken. Brother advised that its printer system cannot detect an malfunctioning unit. But it "can" tell you to keeping buying more Brother products. And then recommend that you send in the printer for repairs. . . . What a cheat!Again, my apologies. I thought the problem was with this generic drum._____________________________I couldn't get the drummer to work. Rather, my printer kept flashing a cartridge indicator signal, despite my installation of an almost-new cartridge.The manufacturer was helpful, emailing me instructions on how to correct the problem. However, now the print produced is unacceptable. Each page has spots of print that is too light.What a waste of time and effort..

I was thrilled to find this drum unit for my Brother HL-2270DW printer after searching for the brand name which sells for $70.00. It was very easy to install with the instructions provided, with the exception of a paper protector that needed to be removed before installation. The instructions didn't mention it at all, but it was fairly obvious that it didn't belong.Once the drum was installed, I still couldn't get my printer to work because it kept coming back with the error light for the drum stop. I finally sent an email to TonerPlus asking for instructions to reset the drum stop error. They told me to open the cover, hold the go button down until all four of the lights lit up, wait for the green light to come back on and then shut the cover. When I tried it, my printer wouldn't come back up to a green light without shutting the cover first. Finally, the drum stop error reset and my printer was finally up and running again.The first page had a slight bit of extra toner it which was disappointing. But since then, every single page has printed beautifully. It's working great!

Arrived on time. Great follow up from TonerPlusUSA. I use the new toner and it works as expected. I will highly recommend this toner and drummer. Great price too! Save me money and yield good result and that is all it matters.

For years I've only purchased genuine Brother toner and cartridges, but decided to give a "compatible" a try ... A mistake it was. If all you want is something that will print, it might work for you, but the printing is lighter, the page has a slight grayish look after printing (small ink streaks on the entire page), the black is just not a solid black like the brother drum. Just to make sure I didn't mess up, I changed back to the brother genuine drum, and the printing looks great. So if Quality printing is important to you, don't buy this product. If you just want to print coupons or general, not important printing ... well it works.
