I'm a full time luthier and guitar builder. Client wanted one replaced, and this was great for that. Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of brass saddles. Weight is one if the biggest factors in acoustic bridges and they add way too much weight. i could see how the brass saddle to brighten up a cheap muddy guitar and add some sustain. But there's a good reason no one uses them in production. if it made a better sounding guitar, everyone would use it, because their guitars would sound better and they'd sell more guitars . It doe's change the sound, but I don't believe for the better in most situations. The same is true for brass bridgepins, if you think they improve the tone, change just one and see if you or anyone can pick which one is brass in a blind listening test.these are the biggest brass saddles I could find. It worked easy and polished up nice when I was dont.Tip: I'd recommend filing the corners, theyre pretty sharp and could be rough when strumming.

I really like the brass nut & saddle combo. The nut is for sure brass (or goldish throughout) but the saddle is not. I sanded both to get the height I need and found the saddle was a brass coating, no big deal. The look of the two pieces is perfect for my big fat dreadnought, with "gold" tuners, nut, saddle, and string pegs! Ha ha!
