Why shell out a small fortune for a hard-to-use tablet from a fruit company when you can bring home this inexpensive option instead? While not quite as snappy as a flagship smartphone this 7 inch Android tab is responsive enough to handle today's popular kids' games including the mighty Roblox, and boasts enough storage to hold a wealth of installed apps.I personally chose to install an antivirus and an adblocker to help keep my 6 year old safe, and I recommend you do the same. Most of the games in the Play store are safe in and of themselves, but ads are served by 3rd party sites and can often contain links or scripts that cause unwanted behavior by the device or in a worst-case can even require a full wipe and reset. The programs I use are Bitdefender Free Antivirus (note that this is a standalone and is not "Bitdefender Mobile Security") and AdAway (which isn't available on the Play Store; consult your local tech geek if you need help with this one). These programs are very light and unobtrusive, with no pop-ups, very minimal user interaction (parental attention once a week to update should suffice) and don't slow the device down at all. In limited cases the protection may affect game performance, but these are simple hiccups with easy workarounds. The peace of mind regarding ads, spam, and malware is more than worth it. In practice my child hasn't reported any issues using her new tablet, downloading games from the Play Store, advancing through levels, or utilizing any features of her beloved Roblox. Your mileage may vary depending on your child's age and game selections. The tablet interface is familiar Android, in this case it seems to be a special flavor called "Android Go," and has the broad smorgasbord of customizations you've come to know and love. This ranges from desktop folders to notification tweaks and just about everything in between. Parental controls are built right in, allowing things like schedules, usage monitoring, quiet time and so forth. It's also very easy to keep an eye on storage use, and to clear things out as needed. The base OS seems to be Android 12 but I'd need to double check to confirm. It's relatively simple to understand and navigate even for those coming from some other ecosystem. Onboard storage is 32GB with an expansion slot for a microSD card.We haven't used the front or rear cameras yet so I can't comment on image quality. There doesn't seem to be a physical flash for either camera though, in case you were wondering. The integrated rugged housing includes a whale shaped kickstand, but I'm not sure how much abuse I'd be willing to subject that to.Charging is achieved using a standard USB-C port next to the power button. A cable is included but it's not as long as the ones you probably have lying around at home. The small size (compared to the popular fruit tablet) is easy for little hands to hold and makes the device perfect for quick trips or longer car rides. This simple tablet is a wonderful way to allow some high tech screen time without a ton of expensive bells and whistles.

As a parent, finding the right tablet for my toddler can feel like searching for a unicorn in a haystack. But then, I stumbled upon this 7-inch kids tablet, and let me tell you, it’s like hitting the jackpot in the world of toddler technology!First off, this baby runs on Android 12, which means it’s more up-to-date than my own phone—how did that happen? With 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, my kid has more gigabytes than I had when I was in college! (And trust me, the learning curve here is a lot less steep). The dual camera is a welcome surprise; my little one loves snapping pictures of everything! I mean, who doesn’t need 47 blurry selfies of the family dog? Plus, I appreciate the eye protection from the IPS screen. It's like giving my toddler a pair of tiny sunglasses without the fuss—no squinting at screens for this little one! Now, let’s talk parental controls: it’s like having a VIP pass to monitor all the shenanigans. I can finally let my kid explore without worrying about them accidentally purchasing a jet ski or something equally outrageous. Not to forget the transparent case that hustles between functionality and style. It looks cool while also preventing any potential toddler tantrum-induced disasters. You know, the overwhelming urge to throw it across the room when a cartoon mouse doesn’t dance the way they imagined it would! In terms of educational apps and gaming, this tablet hits the sweet spot for balance. My toddler bounces between learning games and creative apps like they’re on a content-hopping spree. Meanwhile, I can sip my coffee in peace—okay, mostly while trying to persuade them to eat their veggies, but still! All in all, this tablet is a must-have for tiny tech enthusiasts. It’s safe, functional, and gives me a little slice of sanity. If you’re on the hunt for a gadget that can survive toddler antics while making learning fun, this is the one!
