I want to give this a better review. But I can't. Picture quality is fine. But there are some big issues with it.1. The image will randomly cut out for as long as 30 seconds. I've tried multiple devices. I've tried sending 480p 720p and 1080p as well as 4k. And no matter what it still does the same thing.2. There is a latency issueqhich causes the two receiving televisions audio to be out of sync. Again, I tested this with multiple televisions at different resolutions. I always end up turning the volume all the way down on one so I don't get an annoying echo.3. The power plug always wants to slip out. I don't know why. I have to set it just right and make sure it never gets bumped cause the power cord falls out so easily.Maybe I'm just unlucky and got a bad unit bye chance. But I'm not impressed.

I just bought a brand new 2019 65" Samsung 8000 series TV. Everything worked fine, except when my TV is powered off, and watched my Slingbox (or another TV with the RCA output), there would be a message from my TiVo: "Viewing is not permitted using the TiVo Digital Media Recorder's HDMI output. Try another TV input".TiVo says is "it means that the box is not receiving an HDCP key back from the television."This pertains to TiVos prior to the Bolt, since the Bolt only has HDMI. Mine is a Roamio.I did some research and it appears that using an HDMI splitter is a simple inexpensive workaround. This ZettaGuard 4K 1x2 HDMI Splitter is working perfectly for me.For $10, you get the splitter, a USB cable and a wall wart. (You do NOT receive an HDMI cable).Simply plug in your TiVo output into this splitter and add your own HDMI cable to output to your TV. Since it can be powered by USB, I would recommend using the TiVo USB, to save on A/C plugs. That's all there is to it. The TiVo sees that the HDMI is powered up and the message goes away when the TV is powered off.

I've tested this splitter and confirmed it does indeed output a clear 4K signal to a connected monitor or TV, but does not support HDR, which is a key selling point for many videophiles. However, if you don't need or care about HDR, this is worth a look. Setup isn't as straight forward as it could be and the included instructions weren't adequate enough for me to figure out why I wasn't getting a signal when I first set this up. I did a quick Internet search after troubleshooting for about an hour and was able to find a generic guide to configuring similar devices. The two key points I want to make clear to anyone considering this device are these:1. No HDR support2. This device splits the signal of a single component (Xbox, AppleTV, Blu-Ray player) and outputs it to two different TVs or monitors. I'm calling this out because you'll need a different type of switch if you want to combine multiple devices to connect to a single TV over a single HDMI port.

This is useful for when you have multiple inputs (Blue Ray Player, Video game consoles, Amazon Fire Sticks, Google Chromcast etc). It is a bit bigger than you expect with is dimensions being 0.75 x 3 x 5.25 in. (Height x Width x Length). It appears to be a solid product (feels like it can take a beating and still work). The on/ off button has a distinct click sound but surprisingly has a satisfying tactile feel. The power indicator light is blue and at night can be seen a little bit from the sides where the air vents are. One downside I see is that the rubber feet work pretty well, but I can see that over time they can become worn out.On a technical side, this only supports up to 4k @ 30Hz and is only HDMI 1.4. If you have a PS4 pro or Xbox One S or X you will not be able to output at 4k and have HDR support. This product will work well for all your 1080p needs, but you may experience limitations with the higher needs of 4K.

I'd been having an ongoing problem with sending an HDMI signal from my HT receiver to both a standard LCD TV and a projector. First I tried unpowered splitters....don't waste your time or money. I even tried a different powered splitter, but I would get signal drop on occasion. The ZettaGuard 1X2 Splitter solved the problem as soon as I hooked it up. I does exactly what it's supposed to do, with no dropouts, flickering, etc. that I've suffered with other products. It also feels like a solid, well-built product. We host a "Saturday Matinee" for our friends' kids...maybe 10 or so watching on our 150" screen. That is NOT the time I want to have to deal with a splitter that only works some of the time. The ZettaGuard has solved that problem!

This one worked after two others failed. No issues so far, works great on 1080P.A port on my dual HDMI output receiver went bad after 10 years, so it was either buy a new receiver or a splitter. No big deal right? I don't do 4K, all I needed was one that does 1080P. I tried two other compact metal splitters with a very similar form factor. The 1st one would blink out every 5 or 10 min. the No-name brand winked out every few seconds.I'm not an HDMI expert, but I know it has a lot of hand-shaking every time it connects (syncs). Anytime you connect (turn on) the 2nd TV, the 1st one goes out for a few seconds before both sync up.Anyway, I returned the 1st two and decided to try this one. I figured the two bad ones both had similar microprocessors since the form factors were so similar. This one had a completely different form factor, so I felt confident I wasn't buying the same thing a 3rd time. All 3 had mostly positive reviews, similar price, so it was a matter of trial and error. So far I like the Zettaguard. I'm back to normal, same as my 2 HDMI output receiver.
