I ordered this "ultrasonic frequency" dog whistle to assist with recall of our Czeck import German Shepherd. He is a strong boy with incredible prey drive and on our runs around the ranch he occasionally encounters a bunny or squirl and gives chase. I was hoping the whistle would gain his attention when he is in prey mode.The two pack of whistles arrived quickly and appeared to be of good quality. The lanyards also seem to be of good quality and are very convenient. I attempted to adjust the whistle as described but can hear the tone regardless of my tuning efforts. This may take some practice.On our first outing with "Donar" he ran approximately 200 yards from me. I blew the whistle and he immediately stopped and looked at me which reassured me that he had heard it. Further into our run he ran approximately 300 yards from me and again heard the whistle when I blew it, which is more effective than me yelling commands to get his attention.The whistle seems to work as described although the tuning may take some time for me to master. I can see how this whistle would work great for recall training to gain the dogs attention. I will more than likely incorporate it into my training program.I would have given the whistle a five star review if the tuning was a little less cumbersome and if the whistle came with directions included.

This whistle works great, not sure why it has to be assembled but outside of that it functions great. Blow, and adjust till you see your pet react. Once they react, give them a treat, you have to teach them to respond to the whistle. This isn't a magic tool that you're going to blow and all the dogs in the area are going to come rushing over like cartoons and other media has portrayed over the years. If your pet isn't trained on a whistle, it's going to do little to nothing.Our dogs respond very well to whistles like these, and can be a great option when working on behavior in public as it doesn't annoy others around us and works great in noisy environments. They're able to hear it among all the noise and react accordingly.4 stars, wish it was a one piece design with an adjustable slide but no biggie.

My neighbor’s dog barked nonstop every evening. I tried everything, but nothing worked until this! You can adjust the tone hear the noise it makes. I even used it on walks with my own dog and it comes back immediately. The black design is simple, and it fits easily in my pocket or on the lantern that comes with it. It took a little time to find the right setting for each dog, but once you do, it’s flawless. For the price, getting two is a steal. If you need peace from noisy pets, this works. Just play with it with your own pet to find the best settings.
